whats is the passport thing all about, nice dela by the way

Passport means that if you use your phone while you are abroad you pay a 75p connection charge and then any minutes that you use come out of your inclusive minutes rather than being charged as an expensive extra. I looked this up though and think it is still available on any contract (not sure about PAYG).

I have been offered the following
    £15 per month
    250 anytime mins
    100 texts
    free internet
    Nokia 5800

Should be here tomorrow - will let you know what tips up with what deal?
Thanks. How long is the contract 18 or 12 moinths?
Would be interested to know what you think of the 5800
  • Right, just to give you all an update. i called voda yesterday and requested my pac.

As usual, inbound retention could not offer any deal. I wanted the HTC Magic for free at £25 per month, 600 mins, unlimited txt and internet. outbound called me up today and would only go as low as offered £30 per month for the same deal.

Not happy with this so i told them to call me back. suprisingly they did call me back, only to say we cannot give you the deal you want because the phone is new and expensive. instead, he gave me my pac code. i cant believe it. No retention at all. Loyalty means nothing to them, i've been a customer for 3 years. Now i will leave. i hate them.

Just got off the phone and tried to get the £10 a month for 500mins and free internet but they would go lower than £17.50 but without internet

I've just had the 5800 on upgrade - it's a great phone! The touch screen takes some getting used to but it's fab!
And OH says it's a lot clearer than my previous N95 too when he calls me (and it synched straight away with my hands free which I could never get my N95 to do!)

That's not good. I had a HTC Magic Delivered but decided the deal I was offered wasn't good enough, so I sent it back. I was going to call requesting my PAC and ask for a similar deal to yours (with less texts and mins) Will give it a go and see what happens.
Or I might wait for a Palm Pre. They look pretty handy.

we're considering either that or the Samsung Ultra Tocco (although would have to haggle for the Samsung!) Does anyone have one and would they recommend it or should I settle for the Nokia 5800?

That tariff costs alot of money to apply for them plus the internet is an additional discount they need to add + one of the most expensive phones on offer. As a rentention deal, it's not worth it for the agent.
