thanks...so can you keep it and move onto a new tariff too though??
The vodafone guy told me the only way to keep it was to stay on my old tariff, which is fine, but doesnt have internet
I got the internet added free of charge on my new contract and kept the stop the clock (200mins 250 texts) :beer:0 -

I believe if you change your minute and text bundle then you lose the STC, beacause as soon as they change this they can't add it again, as it's no longer marketed / available.
Having said that, they can add the Internet add-on to your existing bundle so that your minute and text and STC is the same as it is now, but with the unlimited internet.
This normally costs £5 I think, but I know (from doing it myself last week!) that retentions can do this for free.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!0 -

Ok, I am getting lots of calls from voda since I called up to cancel my contract.
I'm going to ask for this -
my current tariff - £23
500 min plus stop the clock
500 txt
am also going to ask them to put unlimited internet on there for free, plus a free 5800. does this sound like a good deal or can I get this for £20 or something?
My original price for this tariff was £17.50, but they added £5pm since I wanted an n95 last yr. So this should be doable? We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

My son's second Vodafone 18 month contract is due to end around 3rd July. On the last two contracts he has had 125 minutes with STC and 250 texts for £20 per month. He has always managed to stay within his limit, although has come close to exceeding it once or twice on the texts.
Of the phones we have been offered so far the Nokia 5800 seems to be the best. However, I like the look of the Samsung Tocco or Tocco Ultra but have been told we would have to pay extra for the handset if we wanted one of these, which I am not prepared to pay (his phone, my contract and bill!) Has anyone managed to get the Tocco or Ultra on a low priced plan? Also has anyone compared the 5800 and Tocco/Ultra and which do they prefer? I know the Tocco Ultra has an 8mp camera but other than that not sure what advantages, if any, it offers over the Nokia. I think we could get the Samsung free if we signed up for a 2 year contract, but I think 18 months is enough, especially as he always seems to have problems with his handsets!
Any advice appreciated. I do have the luxury of having a little bit of time to play with!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
Read back though posts in this thread (as far as 10 pages back if you have the time) and you'll see very many examples of deals people have had on both the tocco ultra and 5800 as both those handsets are being pushed at the moment (both good). You'll see some great deals people have been getting, so finding some that match the useage of your son and you know what sort of deal is worth pushing for / accepting from vodafone.0

Well that will teach me to be smug. See post 1615.
Phones never turned up. waited all day. so I rang 191 to see if phones were going to be delivered Tuesday. I was passed to someone else as no phones had been ordered, and no 'footprint' on my account to say it had ever been offered. Convenient!
Now I am told they cannot do the deal because there is no profit in it! So how come it was offered in the first place. I have had the deal for the last year with better phones!
I am so angry with Vodafone, I still have not had an answer when they was going to let me know the phones were not coming. I could have sat another day.
I put a similar smug post as 1615 on their Eforum, and it was answered straight away, I suppose a compliment would, but now I have put my complaint on there Nothing!
I have read on here that people have been lied to by Voda's CS but I just did not think that a major player would stoop to it.
What was the point of it all. To wind me up--they have succeeded.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
atro out of principle now I would cancel. Push it to the wire and let them do the offering. If you finally accept a great deal always always ask for their full name and a copy of the tariff/deal in writing. Good luck! Please support my thanks button if I have been of any help

I've only renewed once and got what was agreed, although I have had other, unconnected problems with Vodafone in the past. I'm just wondering if it's worth asking them to email what has been agreed and if they would do this?3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
