HTC Magic for £120
12 month upgrade
600mins
unlimited texts
unlimited internet
Voda Family of 4
£25 a month0 -
Thanks Stokegal and everyone else who's posted on the HTC magic. I've just got off the phone with vodafone and got myself the 600min, unlimited texts and internet at £25 a month for 18 months.
I tried to get the one with insurance where you jump up to £40 for the last 3 months but they definitely wouldn't do that (maybe I'm just not a good enough negotiator). No great loss though as I think I should be able to get independent insurance for 12 months for around £50.
Very happy with the deal considering I've been waiting for this phone for about 2 months now and was originally prepared to pay more for it. If I'm honest I'm a little surprised that vodafone are prepared go that low for a phone that hasn't even been out a week and is exclusive to their network. It bodes well for anyone who isn't bothered about getting a new or exclusive phone.
For anyone else who wants to try, don't be put off by the offer of deals which are close - hang on and insist on £25 for the full 18 months.0 -
I just got off the phone with Vodafone and I'm utterly disgusted. Having been a customer for almost 3 years and finally in my upgrade period. I'm currently paying £40 per month for 500 mins, 1000 txts and unlimited internet. Tried to get the HTC magic and all they offered me was £30, 500mins, 1000txts, internet. Compared to what others have got, they are ripping me off.
Please can anyone give me any hints on tips on how to negotiate downwards. I'm happy to pay £25, but no more...0 -
Okay, just tried a second attempt and got offered the following:
HTC Magic (£62.30)
600 mins
1000 txts
Unlimited internet and email
£25 per month
I'm sure they can do better. Any thoughts?0 -
What is classed as more expensive HTC Magic or the Tocca Ultra?
thanks0 -
phoenixdawn I found that vodafone don't get serious until it actually looks like you might leave. Ask for you PAC code and wait for them to call you. Just because you request your PAC code doesn't mean you have to leave them. A day or so after you request the PAC code you should get a text telling you that they will call you in the next 48 hours with your code. When they call the person will be from a separate department than the one you have been speaking to and they will have more authority to go lower. Hold out and I'm sure you'll get a better deal.
Good luck0 -
fatboy 88 the HTC Magic is the more expensive phone - at least at the moment. From the other posts it looks like you can get the Tocco Ultra on cheaper deals0

I got Samsung Tocco Ultra
18 month contract
200 mins with stop the clock (that's more than I need)
250 texts
Unlimited Internet
£18.16 per month
Unsure whether I should have gone for the HTC magic though???
Why has nobody mentioned this yet...is this not an AMAZING deal?
I am looking for a contract extention (just at the end of my 18 months) and was going to try and haggle for an extention with 200 mins, 200 txts and unlimited data for £15.
An extra £3.16 and there is a tocco ultra in the mix as well?!0
