hey, anyone else get a good deal on a HTC magic?
i recieved mine today, with 250mins, 100texts, unlimited internet for £29 but it's for 24 months. so i'm going to ask to return it and cancel my current contract (it was up in Feb) hopefully i'll be able to negotiate a better contract

Over on the vodafone forums, someone is saying that they got 600 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited internet for £25 per month for 15 months - then £40 for the remaining 3 months - 18 month contract PLUS free insurance for the duration!!

    A cracking deal!

that is a good deal. not bothered about the minutes or texts, so maybe i can lose the £40 a month at the end, or is that being ambitious?

I just got the HTC Magic with 600 minutes, unlimited text, unlimited internet for 18 months for £25/month. I'm not suppose to be eligible for an upgrade until the 16th but they called today and that was their first offer.

I negotiated by saying that Phones4u have got the magic for £30/month for 18 months (they have) and they were also offering £100 cashback (slight white lie - they're not) He said it was an amazing deal and he didn't know how they could offer it. I said it was because I use to work for them (i did) and was getting maximum discount. I said the only downside was that I really did want to keep my number, was a hassle to switch networks blah blah blah... and he came back and said he would match them and also knock £5 off each month for the duration of the contract.

    Yay!!! :j:j

Think I've finally managed to sort out the bother with Vodafone.

    I got Samsung Tocco Ultra
    18 month contract
200 mins with stop the clock (that's more than I need)
    250 texts
    Unlimited Internet

    £18.16 per month

Unsure whether I should have gone for the HTC magic though???

it's a cool phone. i tried it in the shop. don't want to pay more than £25 pm though. slightly off topic, but i tried to get them to deliver it to my work address (they took this when i ordered) and despite speaking to about 7 different people, none of them passed this on to the couriers. so they tried to deliver it to my home address and i wasn't there.

Also off topic - for the past 2 years I have requested a phone to be sent to my home address then called up as I was going to be a work an asked them to deliver it to an alternative address (my nan's) and both years they sent out the phone to my home AND to my nan's :D:D so I had 2 phones 2007 - 2 SE W850i's (I loved that phone) and 2008 - 2 Nokia Luna's (Overpriced even at BOGOF!!) They never questioned me either year about the phones and I even made an insurance claim on the Nokia Luna where they apparently checked the IMEI.. This year however I am being a good, honest person and have requested it to be sent to my own address only... :A

    Do you think ...

    - 600 minutes
    -unlimited text
    -web and email
    -24months

Is good for £27 ?? On a 24 month ??? for the HTC Magic??

Phones4u are offering the exact same deal/phone but for 18 months for £30/month- go back and barter more - I got mine down to £25/month and it starts immediately so the remaining 3 months of this years contract will be reduced down to £25 instead of £35
