Vodafone Retention Deals

Hey all,
I'm nearing the end of my Vodafone 18 mth contract, and on the Vodafone website, it says that I am eligible for a phone / deal upgrade. Would I get a better deal online or over the phone via their cancellation department?
Any recent stories or suggestions are more than welcome.
Many thanks.September £5 a Day Challenge

Hi there
i have been in this situation a few times, i have on some occasions found a good deal on line for new customers then taken this to them by calling them and telling them i want to cancel and take a new deal with them, they have then sorted something out for me.
This year however i found a good cashback deal through quidco (on a vodafone deal) so contacted vodafone by phone, explained this to them, declined their new offer, they then called me back. i now have 600 anytime mins, unlimited texts for £12.50 per month (from £35 for less texts/ mins), for 18 months, have put some of these savings to buying a newer phone.
My experience is that you can squeeze more out of them over the phone.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Well just an hour ago. I was gonna upgrade online but wanted to ask a couple of questions regarding delivery. So I rang Vodafone. I told them the phone and the plan I wanted. They then gave me an extra 50 mins and 1 months free internet. All this without me having to ask. So my answer would be to ring them. If I had done it online, I would have got just what it said on their website. Oh and they said I can upgrade after 18 months and not the 24 months stated on the website0

Currently using a phone which is pretty high-end and would like to upgrade to something better. Has anyone tried making them offer you a deal which involves a phone such as the N96, Samsung Omnia etc?September £5 a Day Challenge
