You already get free internet in that deal, I got it a couple of weeks ago for my daughter, but voda refused to match the £90 Quidco.

    Hi,
I went to Phone-4 -U last weekend to check on their upgrade offers, as I was within the last 60 days of my contract.I'm currently on 125min+250 texts+STC+passport for £20 and hardly ever go over available minutes or texts.
I was after Nokia 5800 and they gave me a free phone & £50 cash for my old phone Nokia 6234.I accepted the deal for £20 on 18 months contarct, as I needed a new phone ASAP. Probably, I could have done better upgrade, but I couldn't wait few days for a delivery of the new phone.
    Cheers!

Vodafone usually give better upgrade/retention offers to high spending customers.

So if your on a £20 a month plan and stick within your free texts/minutes you won't get as good an offer as someone who spends £30+ per month and goes over their free minutes/texts.

I've seen loads of customers who are on a £30 plan but going over each month who don't change to a higher/better plan so still making Voda lots of £££'s
 Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.
  • Yeah, that's basically why I didn't think I'd get any better than I did with them in the end. Stuck with the same 18 month 75 min STC and 100 texts for £15.66 a month and got the Nokia 5800 for nothing. They were willing to reduce it to £12 a month if I signed up for 24 months but I didn't, so didn't think there was anywhere else I could go really.

Although Phones4U's deal (same as sunciker got) was in hindsight better than I got from Vodafone - no handset cashin offer and the cheeky blighters charged me a fiver for postage!

Andy all is not lost. Hang fire for when your PAC code arrives. I wouldn't be surprised if you then receive another call from them offering you a better deal. They have more powers at that point to offer you a better deal. Let us know how you get on

    An update regarding my upgrade.
Thanks to foolsgold99 - he was right - one day after requesting my pac code, I received a call from retentions offering me what they previously said they couldn't.

    Blackberry 8900 Curve
    250mins / 100 text
    Free Unlimited Internet
    Free Email
    £20 / month 18month contract.

Recieved the phone earlier in the week.
It pays to dig in for a better deal by being prepared to leave.

Anyone upgrading please be aware of this information given to me in writing today by Vodafone in response to a complaint I made to their CEO
