I just got a deal from vodafone...

Free Nokia 5800
150 mins
500 texts

£17.50 a month for 15 months, can upgrade again on 16th month (18 month contract)

Now I think this is a very good deal but my boyfriend does not!

What do you think??

Great advice on here, helped me with a lot with negotiating my upgrade deal just now. Orig voda rang me a few weeks back and offered me bberry curve for £25 with 250mins 100 txts plus the internet an email, 18mths. No stock tho.
Rang back yesterday an the deal got worse as for that price they was saying it would have to be 24 mths.

Than came on here for a read up.....

Rang up today an asked about leaving and after quoting a couple of the better deals on here was offered one of them, couldnt get the £20 (250mins,100txts, internet) one but did get
600mins, unlimited text, email internet for £25 18mth contract.
Discount runs for 15mths at which point I can upgrade. Im always goin over my minutes an paying £50s some months so this tariff should cover me an Im pretty happy with the improvement on what I was originally offered.

I was offered the Samsung Ultra Tocco for free with 150 mins, 500 texts and 500mb internet for £22.50 on an 18 month contract.

Is this a good deal?

I agree with your boyfriend here. I think you can get far more texts for that price considering you are asking for lesser minutes. Jump in near the 3000 texts mark and then work your way down. If they don't budge, ask for your PAC number and they will start to sweat and call you everyday begging you to stay. Keep them on edge for a few days until you get the offer you want and then take it.

Again, not a good deal in my opinion. Don't settle for anything more than £17.50 IMO. As above, ask for more texts, go in at 3000 or even Unlimited. On the Vodafone website they are offering Free Tocco Ultra with 600 mins and Unlimited texts for £30 a month. Considering you are only being offered 150 mins and 500 texts, £22.50 is quite pathetic and make sure you tell them that in the same words. If they don't budge ask for your PAC, let them call you everyday for a few days and see what they offer. Don't be compelled to accept anything, just say you'll think about it and call back. Don't listen to any rubbish about the offer only being valid for a few hours or today only, you will keep on getting calls from people looking for commission! Once you get a decent offer and you think you've exhausted all the possibilities, go for it.

Time for me to upgrade,

My current phone is the N73 from 18 months ago and have always liked the phone but now its getting past it a bit,

I am torn between the N96 the Nokia5800 and the Tocco Ultra.

Vodaphone called me yesterday offering me on any of the above phones

For £31.00 a month.... this was an offer made with a slight bit of haggling anyone any input on this?

I am due an upgrade today and have a couple of questions/advice

I would like the samsung omnia but I'm only on a £25 contract so haven't been offered it online. I don't mind still paying £25 a month but wouldn't mind some more minutes and texts and free internet would be great, how easy do you think i will get this deal?

also who do i phone first, upgrades? or diconnections?

I was going to phone up and say i will leave as i have seen an offer on phones 4 u (which is true as well, im not making it up) which is £20 with more texts and minutes and the phone is free and see if they could match it, would this work?

Cheers mate.. i had a flyer come through with the news of the world yesterday advertising it for £25 so thats what im aiming for this afternoon when they ring me up!
