My wife's Vodafone contract is up for renewal. Been with them for 12 months, 200 Minutes, 100 Texts, £30/month. What can I get out of them? Not interested in a fancy phone, just cheap/month and decent amount of minutes. Wife went well over 200 and cost me a fortune over the year!0

Right, after a bit of haggling, I got offered the following:
Nokia 5800
500 mins, 100 txts
18 month contract
£20/month
What do you think?
When I told them I didn't want a phone, all they could be bothered offering was 700mins @ £17.50/month for 9 months! Bloody ridiculous when you consider this offer from M2YD... http://www.mobiles2yourdoor.co.uk/contract_offer_details.asp?ItemKey=161072&MPItemKey=1778130 -

Ask retention to beat this deal which is just £25/month. You also got a new Nokia 5800 which you may sell it away for at least £200.
If they cannot beat the deal just sign up this deal directly as a new customer and also to get extra cashback through Quidco!0 -
Waiting now for two new Nokia 5800s to be delivered Friday or Saturday on the following tariffs both at £17.50 for 18 months;
1@
500 mins
100 texts
unlimited internet
1@
300 mins
1000 texts
unlimited internet
It took a few calls and requesting of PAC code before I got these which I understand are both nominally £35 a month. Technically it would have been possible to get 600 mins unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £18.61by going via Quidco and getting a 10 month half price deal they had on the vodafone site but this would have meant porting my number out to another network PAYG then porting it back to my 'new customer' contract. This was less hassle and I never use that many texts anyway.0 -
I've not had much luck with Vodaphone today. I've only spoken to one person but have asked for my PAC.
The best the CS rep could offer was
Samsung Omnia £100
600minutes
unltd texts
18mo
£25pm.
I'm really hoping, after reading what people have managed to get here, the Omnia for free and internet browsing added for the same price. I'm happy to lose the unltd texts for 300-400. I mentioned i'd been with them for 7 years and never defaulted on a payment, but that made no difference.
The CS rep told me that i'd never get the phone for free as its their 3rd most expensive. I mentioned it had been out for over 6 months and that newer phones are given away free. His response, "The BMW 3 series has been out for a long time and it is still bought for £40,000!!"
I told him thats apples and oranges and that my car nearly lost half its value in 6 months
Anyho, hope I get to talk to someone in the real retentions department or i may move to the dark side and get an iphone. Why do i have to go through this charade each time.....0 -
I bought a couple of carpets last year in Morocco and that was roughly similar to the experience of upgrading my mobile contract. They won't give you the best price until you have walked out the door and gone half way down the street to the next carpet shop!0

If I port my number over to another network, how long before I can port it back to Vodafone if I sign up for a deal elsewhere to get cashback and Quidco?0
-
Zoom you need to have the pac code from the other network to bring back to Voda at the time you sign up for a new deal, they cannot port a number in after you have taken it out as i found out last week0
