so again...what do you sya when you call up and ask for these crazy deals??

My own personal experience...........tell them you are not happy for starters and are wanting to leave......then listen to what they are saying!

DON'T go in heavy handed, as it's likely to blow up in your face, i.e. don't be too smart with the call handler - they've got a job to do as well.

Do a bit of homework and see what's out in the market - I reviewed the previous 6 to 10 pages on this thread and noted what others had got, on a similar deal to me........that way I knew how far to should say "I wasn't happy" and not to push, till the deal would break. Also used the comparison site on here, see what new customers are getting from both Vodafone and the competitors.

As an example - hadn't thought about unlimited internet but what's the point of getting a fully loaded phone if you can't run it?

What I've found with the guy I was dealing with...........speak to them, it makes for a bit of banter and makes the call a conversation rather than a competition with a winner and a loser!

I'm all set up with my wife's' phone dispatched today for delivery on Monday (no additional or hidden charges) and mines will follow when in stock - so I can't be happier, as I've now got 2 phones and contracts and paying a combined monthly total (with additional services) which is less than we were paying previously together........which is the whole point to the effort.

I'm even thinking of mailing the guy back, once I've got my phone delivered, asking to whom I can send a compliment on his behalf to, as I do feel a valued customer of Vodafone!!!

    Yeap - full 18 months.

Watch though - they automatically remove the discount as you become illegible for an upgrade at the end of the contract............rational is that they'll offer you a deal based on the true value of the contract and not what you'd paid and are able to do something better for you.

When you renew, you're supposed to get a credit back for the "extra" you'd been paying............could argue it's a reason for you to stay, to get your money back?

madness, so in theory i could ask for the same deal as you, as what they offered me was 600 mins, ulimited txt, unlimited internet on pssport for 25 quid a month, which i thought was good untill i read what you got. Ive been paying 45 a month for the past 13 months.

what do you mean about this credit? and what extra do you pay?

  • On vodafone with 2 phones 100minutes ,50 texts at £15 a month for each phone. After a few phone calls to retentions managed to get 2 new sony ericcsons w715 at the same price on 18 month contract with 150 minutes ,500 texts and unlimited internet with free delivery on both phones .Only things to be aware of is got free insurance for 1 month so need to remember to cancel after month and after 16 months need to ring to upgrade or contract will go up to £30 a month for each phone.Effectively i am getting a £30 a month deal at half price for 16 months not bad i dont think :j

They tried to palm me off with a Navigator phone, but only 150 mins and 250 texts for £25 when I phoned up to see what they could do for me on the Tocco Ultra or the w715.

Will wait another week then see what they offer me, as I can give my months notice then and go with O2 and get a blue Tocco Ultra!
