Vodafone Retention Deals

I bargained them down to 200 mins 100 texts, free itemised billing for £8.50 a month (before VAT). But they wouldn't agree to give me the same deal for another contract I wanted to move over from 3 so don't know if I was lucky with my callcentre employee the first time around. Also only a 12month contract as I said I wouldn't agree to longer.
Did you get a handset with this?0 -
No. I wasn't bothered about upgrading the handset as my motorola pebl is still going strong. However, did end up renewing the other contract with 3 for 300 units (minites or texts), 300 minutes to 3 network, free voicemail for life (!?), 4000 skype minutes (not that useful as I don't use) for £14.68 a month 14mth contract (they wouldn't budge down to 12) and this came with samsung 7330. But obviously this involves staying with 3 and their annoying customer service. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0

Hi, I have been with Vodafone for a number of years, and was recently made a gold customer (they offered me loads of things but none suited), My current 18 month contract is eligable for an upgrade in less than a month.
However, I originaly got a Palm Treo 500 with my package and after the 5th time I had to have it fixed (got a different one each time) I decided to sell it on ebay (£80) and got an LG Cookie (£100 at the time).
Its a great phone and I have no complaints with it for what I need, however I would like to get email on my phone at a decent price. My current contract is only £20 a month, for 75 mins and some a couple of hundred texts, which i very rarely go above.
I really dont know what sort of deal to look for, any ideas ? I am quite prepared to just cancel in a couple of months an go PAYG if I cant find a decent deal.0 -
Hi is this a 12 month contract?
The best vodafone are offering me is the 5800 on 12m at 25 pounds which is a joke! I can get the same phone if i upgrade online at 20 pounds for 12 months. I am currently on the 40 pound tarrif - how can i get the 5800 on 12months at 15 pounds?
Sorry for the late reply bud, havnt been on here for ages. No, this is not on a 12 month contract, its 18 month i'm afraid. Seems to be how the operators work now, cant get a decent deal unless you move up to an 18month contract. Any particular reason you only want a 12 month deal? I know the overall payout may be more when spread over 18months but if the monthly payment is less it'll be easier to manage and you'll get more minutes and txt's for your money.
Oh and for everyone asking, when I rung I was told the 5800 was out of stock and they didnt know when they would get it back in but they would let me know via call or txt. I didnt get a callback or a txt but oddly the phone turned up the very next day, weird!!0 -
I spoke to customer relations today and apparently the 5800 should be in on Thursday, so she is reserving me one, after emailing that I wanted to cancel, all I was offered was to match one of their online offers of 600 mins unlim text and free internet access for £35 month with 10 months half price for 18 months, so works out to £24.74 at 15% vat. I asked for a further discount to cover the £90 I would get from Quidco but it was refused, she said they do not match deals from cashback companies. The phone is for my daughter and she wants to keep her number, more fool her.0
-
Yeah networks dont match cashback deals, Dont think anyone does0
-
Ioscorp did you have to ask for the 10 months half price or did they offer that to you straight up? I would personally be pretty happy with that have to say, its saving more than if you took the £90 from quidco so if they wont do both then 10 months half price is not bad really0
-
I had emailed them to cancel my account and complained that the cust service rep did not want to negotiate a deal with me and I quoted the Vodafone online deal for new customers, so they emailed me back saying that I could have the online offer. I left it a few days and then I phoned to try and get a further discount or a freebie but she was having none of it. Retentions did not phone me, but reading the email again, it said if I still wanted to cancel I would have to give them 30 days notice, so she obviously had not set in motion my notice period when she received my first email. She is not going to start the new contract until the Nokia 5800 comes into stock.

If you sign up as a new customer you could get the 10 months half price and £90 Quidco, so it would average out to less than £20 per month and would include internet access.0 -
Do vodafone call you once you have requested your PAC. Mine expires in 10 days and so far no call.....0

ok thanks IO
Would anyone think I have any bargaining power to bring that £35 deal down a bit on the Tocco Ultra when it is released next week? Ive been with voda for 3 years now and would like to stay but I dont want to pay that much for the deal but would need all that it includes. Im expecting a call from retentions on friday as thats when they think they willl have the handset in thier warehouse.
I didnt take any loyalty dicounts after my 1st 18 months and the 2nd 18 months I was paying £20 a month and not even using it as I had another phone all use paid. Will they see me as a low user because of this?
The general upgrade offers I got were a joke for other handsets, worse than new customer deals.
Are they going to give me any incentive to stay do you reckon?
im not expecting it for like £15 a month but to go sub £30 would be nice0
