  • Hey all,

I rang up Vodafone and said I wanted to cancel but they asked that if they offer me a better deal, would that keep me? I said maybe. They offered me my current deal 600mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £17.50 per month and a new Nokia 5800. This seems to me to be a great deal.

I paid £40 per month for 12 months and £30 per month for the remaining 6 months of the contract. Is this as good a deal as I am going to get or could I get cheaper monthly or a better phone? Phones I am interested in are the Storm, HTC Touch, N96 but appreciate I probably wont get these for much below £30 per month.

Would just like to know if I have a good deal as I want to squeeze as much out of Vodafone as I can? Thanks

That's very good if you ask me, I got my tariff (600mins/unlimited texts) down to £12.23 on a 12 month deal, but no unlimited net and no new phone (don't want one at the moment).

thats a great offer, hope i can get less mins for 15 per month.

    regards
  • Jam13 - you were paying VF £660 for the 18 month period, which drops to £315 (exactly half) with this deal for the next 18 months, with a Nokia 5800 thrown in (worth about £240). Pretty good deal so just ask yourself, in light of the other handsets you're interested in, if you really want this phone or not.

  • The deal seems great to me. Is it worth trying to get it to £15 per month or getting a 12 month contract? I am guessing all the phones I mentioned will be £25 min per month? Oh and I was paying £40 and £30 to vodafone but I got £20 per month redemption from Phones4U. So was aiming for £20 a month ish. I am currently getting all that for only £10 a month hence my eagerness to get a great deal :)

    Thanks all

Only been with them 3 months on sim only £15 deal; but 1 call today asking for pac got offered Nokia 5800 free, 18mth deal, 500 min + 100 text for £15. Seemed reasonable so I took it.
  • hi there would you like to go to O2 by any chance...??? that's what they offered me. i think no harm trying. i mentioned them that Vodafone is offering bla bla bla.....if nothing else may be just an idea what you should be asking for or may be to mention what other network is offering. if interested try to goto O2 retention thread 2 on this form (around page 90/91 onward) to have more ideas. i have taken this offer and just waiting for my phone to arrive (hopefully it would be nice). good luck to you for whatever dear...... oh don't forget to check the following....(i sent it on that thread yesterday).....

well i got my deal at about 7.30pm today
    free nokia 5800
    600 mnts
    unlimited texts
    unlimited web browsing
    £50 high street voucher
she mentioned the handset package which i am going to have will contain bluetooth headset (worth £80) as well........(may be you guys will also get it as standard)
can change Bolton after every 90 days.

she gave me all above with 2 options
    1. £20.00x18 months = £360.00
    2. £15.00x24 months = £360.00

so no prizes for guessing right which one i went for. YES, option 2 because i am going to get 6 months free line rental over option 1.
i agreed to this. my existing contract is ending on 25/02 but she said as soon as new deal is activated old one will be cancelled out and they will not charge me for the period between the activation of new deal and end date of existing contract. so in short from 25/01/09 - 10/02 (at the latest) they will send me the bill on my old rate £40/pm) and afterwards it will be calculated in acoordance with £15/pm. hope it is a help to you guys. go for it. intially i ask for PAC which they gave me without any offer. today i just called them with excuse that i am calling to have instructions, how to use my PAC, that was at about 5pm.. guy started talking about this phone he gave me option to have 400mnts+500texts/£15/pm. i said no thakyou. called at 7:30pm again using same excuse, third time lucky so got this deal. Oh yes, don't forget to mention some realistic (self made)Vodafone deal.you will be a winner. still trying to sort out Vodaphone contract for which i have got a PAC already.
