  • I'm coming to the end of my contract. Vodafone called me yesterday but the call was cut off as we were discussing a deal.

    I'm hoping to get a N95 (8Gb) on a 12 month deal. I currently get 200 mins and 250 texts for £20p/m (exc. VAT).

So I ask, what are the chances of them offering to cut my monthly line rental if I agree to 150 mins and 150 texts monthly allowance as this is all I need?
  • Yet another one needing some advice!

My contract started 2nd August 06 for 18 months so ends shortly.

    I have a Sony Ericsson V630i

Present tariff is Anytime 200 minutes + 250 texts, stop the clock, £25.53 per month, also have family group of 6 @ £5.96 and insurance @ £6.95. Vat is usually around £5.50 and total bill is generally around £45 per month.

I am not using any where near my minutes per month and always have a large amount carried over as most of the numbers i call are in the family group.

So basically i would like a new phone (quite like the look of the new W960i due out shortly) and i suppose a similar sort of tariff but could probably get away with less minutes. What i do want to do is decrease the monthly outlay as i feel i am just paying for minutes that i am not using.

Any advice as to what i should be looking at paying would be gratefully received.
    thanks

I'm in a bit of a jam as what to do, my 12mth contracts (2 phones) are up in march so i've started to shop around as i've had some bad experience with vodafone this year.
firstly i contacted voda to open up my phone so i could use it in portugal, i spoke to a nice lady who did that and even suggested the international call saver to me which i didn't know about and would have saved me a few pounds IF the bloody thing worked,
    [rant mode]
i couldn't make a call from my mobile once there and got my wife back in the uk to get in touch and explain that my phone was still barred, they fobbed her of on 3 seperate occasions telling her that i didn't have the phone set up properly, i was using the hotel phone to keep in touch and ended up paying over 70 euros plus another 20 odd in internet access fees.
when i got home i rang to make a complaint, the person i spoke to was from a foreign call centre who assured me it was my fault and i hadn't set the phone properly so i asked to speak to a manager to make a complaint, he told me i couldn't and i would have to write to them, at this point i gave up, i could barely make out what he was going on about anyway.
i tried twice more and found out that the initial person i spoke too hadn't enabled the roaming  and was assured both times by uk call centre staff that someone would be in touch to discuss the complaint but nobody called back.[/rant mode]
i also had an issue after changing the wife's contract, fault of voda customer service, but that was sorted pretty quickly.
i went to the states a few weeks ago and the phones worked ok there but i'm dreading the bill, it'll hit the mat like a telephone directory.

i now want to leave vodafone but now the oh has her mind set on the samsung F700 which ironically, is exclusive to vodafone :(
i want the sony w960i which is due out soon as i have the w950i now and very happy with it apart from the camera. this is coming out on O2, hopefully i can get a good deal and get an unlocked f700 from fleabay.
  • Hi Stan,

I’m sorry to hear of the problems you had using your phone in Portugal. I can understand why you’re anxious about receiving your bill for your time in the States. I’d like to have a look into this for you and ensure that you’ve been charged correctly for the calls whilst in the USA and make sure that the International Call Saver option you were offered has been applied to these calls.

I’m also sorry to hear that you’re thinking of leaving Vodafone in light of the above problems and I’d like to see if there’s anything I can do to help change your mind on this. The f700 is a fantastic phone and it would be a shame for your partner to lose out on this and the new great deals we have to offer.

If you would like me to look into this further please contact me using the Vodafone online contact us form here. Ensure you fill in all the details it asks for so that I don’t need to ask you any further questions. If you include the code FIT135 somewhere in the body of the email it will direct it to my team. To make it quicker for you, you can include a link to your post here.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Hopefullyuseful1

Wonder if you can help my folks out? - Both of them have Vodafone Off-Peak tariffs and have been with you guys for donkeys years.

    One has Vodafone Off-Peak 600 (600 Off Peak mins to landlines & Vodafones) + 15 mins X-Net + texts - £15 per month.

Other one has Vodafone Off Peak 1000 (gets 1000 mins + some texts). £18 per month

Anyway both are out of contract for awhile now and would both like some new handsets (one is broken) - nothing flashy and if possible maybe some more cross net minutes.

Is there anything you can do / advise what might be available?

    Cheers

    WJUK

ps - Reduced line rental would be good too ;)

thanks for your kind offer, unfortunately as i've tried to use the online 'contact us' option but failed to obtain as a reply, not much different to speaking to you on the phone as it appears. i appreciate that i may be a one off but from my point of view, i can only assume that there is a general carelessness you have with your customers that your competitors don't seem to share.
i would however, appreciate any feedback from other customers who have experienced a similar issues, in the very least to give voda a kick up the jacksy and they can actually go out and help customers who have problems with the service.
  • Hi WJUK,

I am afraid I am unable to offer upgrade deals online. I would recommend you call our upgrades team either by dialling 191 from your Vodafone mobile or 08700 700 191. We have some great deals available at the moment many with reduced line rental so I am sure you will get something suitable.

    Thanks

I'm sorry this hasn’t been done for you yet. There could be a couple of reasons this isn’t working.

Do you have a direct debit in place? Online billing is only available to Vodafone customers who pay by direct debit.

Is you account paid up to date or are they any restrictions on you line? If an account goes overdue or if any restrictions are placed on your account this will suspend your online billing service.

Did you activate the online billing option after you had signed up for a "My Vodafone Account"? After you have activated your "My Vodafone Account" you will need to select the option for online billing from the left hand toolbar.

If you have done all of this and it still isn’t working I would need to have a look at your account. Please contact me via the Vodafone online contact us form here. Please fill in all the details it asks then I wont need to come back and ask any further questions. If you include the code FIT135 in the body of the email it will come through to my team in the forum department.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi...

Me and my partner have been with Vodafone for about 5 years now. We have 2 phones, each on a £25 a month tariff.

Our contracts expire on the 29th Feb.

Ive been looking online and noticed many companies offering free 32" Hi-Def LCD TV's or Dell Laptops as a "Free Gift" on Orange £30 18 month contracts.

What are the chances of Vodafone equalling this "Free Gift" offer ?

    Regards,

    Mark.
