Hi kevmck,
Sorry to hear about the confusion with your contract commitment on your account. When you take out a contract with a third party company, Vodafone are supplied the information on how to set up the account, so it looks like a mistake may have been made by the company you got your handset from.
I'd like to look into this further and resolve the issue for you. Please could you contact us using the Vodafone Online Contact Form, taking care to fill in all requested information. Please could you also include the code FIT135 in your message so that your email comes through to the right team? Thanks.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
I've recently come within 70 days of the end of my Vodafone deal. My old phone was becoming a bit unreliable (I always had to use the loudspeaker when making a call) so I was in a bit of a rush to get a new phone.
I'm on the Anytime 350 STC+VP £40 18month deal. I phoned 191 and spoke to someone to ask them about any deals. I was spoken to rather brusquely and told that if I went onto a "new" contract that I wouldn't get the rollover minutes and basically that was the best deal that I could get and that I'd get a rather basic phone as part of the upgrade. I wasn't entirely happy with the attitude of the sales person and decided to end the call to think about it. I wasn't given advice such as - you typcially use x mins and y texts so deal z would be best for you as people in this forum have indicated might happen.
That very evening my old phone was even more rickety than usual so I looked on the Vodafone website about upgrading- I didn't want the same unpleasant experience of speaking to someone who I was of the impression thought I was pushing my luck expecting a decent new phone. I took an offer of a free Nokia 5300 staying on my same £40 tariff for 18 months. The phone is OK and does all the basics but is nothing fancy at all compared to newer phones.
Since then I have looked at this MSE website with very helpful advice from Vodafone employees. It would appear that I could have got a big reduction in tariff if I had been more bolshy and asked to cancel- more fool me!
My question is, I have only had this new phone for less than a week and there is 50 days to the end of my original contract- would there be any mileage in trying to push for a cool-off peroiod, returning the phone and asking to cancel? What are the rules on this? I'm not sure if the new 18month deal started from last week, when I received the new phone, or does the existing contract finish first?
I'm happy with Vodafone so would be loathe to leave, but equally I don't want to pay more than I have to- who does?
Any advice will be greatfully received.

Hi b814sn1,
We've received your email this morning and will be in contact shortly to resolve your issue. For future reference for anyone else, you have 14 days peace of mind with Vodafone upgrades and new connections and can therefore return the handset to us by calling 191 free of charge from your handset.
Hope this helps,

it's my first post here; if for some reason, I've not done the right thing or followed the right etiquette, please accept my apologies first.
I had problem checking my bills online; so I called vodafone up and complained. By chance, my contract finishes today. Inevitably i got passed first to sales (upgrade), and as I complain about online stuff, I got passed to retention dept (i assume it is, as the sales lady said the next guy has more flexibility when it comes to giving discounts/deals)
With my £24.99 p/m priceplan (CTRA150+STC+18M), the retention person offers Nokia N95 8GB for £105 if I renew it for 18-months; or FREE if for 24-months.
Is that a good deal? I really don't feel like paying for a handset. Or is Nokia N95 8GB overhyped anyway?
Thanks for any suggestions in advance. :T

There seems to be a follow-up tracking system, which I do appreciate.
However, I couldn't help but feel that it's a ploy to lure me into the £7.50 mobile internet thingy. - which they give it to me for free for the first month...

hi,
my 18 month contract with vodafone (originally £15p/m but quickly upgraded to £20p/m and now with added £7.50 internet) will be up by Febuary '08 so obviously i need to start looking at upgrading/leaving vodafone for a better deal.
I'm currently on 125mins 250 texts stop the clock rollover
What is the best deal I can get? getting a phone included isn't essential as i am using an unlocked iphone. however obviously if it was free i could then just sell it on ebay, recouping my iphone costs!
I want to pay less than what I am at the moment, ideally with more minutes. Does something like £20 for STC rollover with 200mins and 250 texts and the internet bundle included sound to good for me to hope for?
Cheers,
Martin0 -
i jus got n95 8gb 75mins/100 text 12m contract for 20 a monthCharles J0
