My Vodafone contract was nearing an end, and I phoned to get an upgrade thinking on the N95. I'm on a 100 minutes 50 texts for £15 tariff, and really do not need more than that.
First call, and I was told I would have to fork out £250 if I wanted that phone. Then they phoned me up offering an upgrade and asking which phone I might be interested in. Again I told them N95 and they said I would have to pay 125 and go to a higher tariff of 25 a month with 250min and 100 texts.
Last night I phoned again, but instead of choosing upgrades, I went for the "thinking about leaving vodafone" option. I directly asked for my PAC, and the guy asked why. After telling him that I wanted the N95 and they had not been able to match deals I had found elsewhere, the guy said first that they don't do N95's anymore but N95 8GB which is much more realiable that its predecessor, blah, blah, blah (which is true). After a lot of chatting, I told him that I wanted the PAC, nothing else unless they could make a sensible offer. He then offered me the N95 8GB for £99.99 maintaining my old tariff of £15 a month. Does this sound like a good deal?0 -
I just spoke with Vodafone and although I on £35 per month, I was offered the 8Gb N95 for £225 on an 18month contract. The N95 is now not offered by Vodafone. I was also offered the Nokia 6110 for £65 per month on 18months.
Seeing as I can get better else where, I will put togehter my side of offer orange or O2 on a N95 and see if retentions can do any betterProud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

I phoned Vodaphone today asking about an upgrade as I have only 1 month left on my contract. My current contract is 275mins/275txt for £35 a month. I asked for the Sony Ericsson K850i and the best they could offer me was half price rental for 6 months on another 18 month contract with the same minutes/text. I have been with them for 3 years and although my contract is £35 a month, my actual average monthly bill is £78. I also currently have 3 contracts with them, Internet/Landline (£25), Mobile (£35) and Mobile Internet (£35).
I just started a new contract for my girlfriend on o2 and she gets 500minutes/400 text for £30 a month with the same phone for free. I asked if they could get anywhere near that deal, and they said they couldn't. I frequently threatened to cancel all my contracts unless they could come close to what my girlfriend got and they consistantly said they couldn't on their system. In the end I got the cancellation address off them and the phone call ended.
I'm a loyal customer and never missed a payment with them, on average they are getting £78 a month for my mobile plus £60 on my other 2 contracts per month off me. All I was asking was for them to come close to what my girlfriend has from O2. Does anyone have any suggestions, tips or their own stories how they got Vodaphone to give a better deal and how they went about doing it.

phone and give 30days cancellation notice, ask for a PAC code.
Don't ask if they have any deals, until they ask you.
Tell you are going to 3, and they will put you through to retentionsbaldly going on...0 -
just put cancellation request in writing, and soon you will get contacted with vodafone retention department.
I have been with vodafone about 4 years, and average monthly bill is no more than 25 quids. I asked for an upgrade this month and got K850 for free in a 12 month contract which is 20 quids per month and free itemlised billing. Although I only have 75 mins and 100 text per month but I am still quite happy with this deal.0 -
I have one more month to go with Vodafone and currently paying £20/month for 75 mins and 100 texts. What the best offer that I can get from Vodafone retention deals in two cases:
1. No phone
2. With a new phone
Thanks in advance0 -

As an update, I wandered into Phones4U the other day to look and hold the phone. I played 'dumb' a little and claimed I didnt know you could upgrade instore.
In the end I got the Nokia 8Gb for free. Contract is now £45 per month, for 750 min, 3000 txts and the internet data pack. After 28 days there is an automatic credit to my bank account of £90. So I think that makes average of £40 per month. Maybe not the best deal, but I am happy.Proud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................
