  • Oh my goodness DNMS. What a scare for you and DGD. Pleased you're both ok physically, and I know I don't need to tell you to be kind to yourself mentally as well. You have that in the bag. Hope the pair of you are on the up soon.

    Evening all!

    I got the GC job (not the closest one, the one I screwed up.) I have accepted it so 27th February will be the start of a new way of life for me. Scary (because it's out of my comfort zone) but exciting too.

    I will be doing just 20 hours per week and the money will *just* cover all my direct debits but will give me a measure of security to start up the soft play thing and now I know which my days off will be (Tuesday and Thursday) I can plough ahead with booking a hall etc.

    Obviously if it all goes t*ts up as my mum says I can get a 'proper' job. I'll be in no worse a situation than now in that I will need to look for work.

    I've just listed one last thing on flea bay before I change it over to a business account to start offering the order of service thing too (must order some ink and stock up on card.)

    We didn't go to the chippy and instead had pretend Nand0s which was in the freezer, we just needed to buy chips. I did pop out again though to buy bits and pieces for DS and DSGF as he pointed out the fridge was bare. I got myself some sausage rolls and a multipack of crisps for work so I won't be tempted by pr@t again tomorrow, I could kick myself :mad:

    I have just done another bundle for WBB and put the one that wouldn't scan for Hermes inside the box as well as the new order, I'll get it there somehow!

    Hope you are all having a well deserved rest this evening :)

    Goshy gosh - I go away for a day and the world has changed!
    DNMS - sounds so scary for you and madam!
    FVD - well done! So happy for you!! :T BTW, that is like something my mother would say :mad: Like when my OH got job#2 she said it was good 'he was working' (as in job#1 didn't count as working...) but it's frustrating because my sister never used to work and was supported by her hubby and that was absolutely fine but since with us it was the other way around she didn't like it...

    We spent far more than we needed to last night... Nipped out to see kitchens but there was an awful crash on the motorway and it took us over an hour to do a journey that's usually less than half an hour. Ended up coming home via mcds because it was getting late and we also still can't use our oven. I also picked up a few bits we didn't *NEED* but wanted for the house - around £55 worth of extra stuff in the form of a new toilet seat and a mirror... In money-saving ways we saw the worktop we were thinking about it's a helluva lot cheaper than the real wood one we had looked at previously so there's some dosh saved right there. Kinda evens out, right?! :o I won't feel guilty sitting on my new loo seat now :rotfl:

    I've just noticed the time - I better dash and catch up with y'all later. I only logged on because YNAB was showing as £2 out and I couldn't see my 'cleared balance' correctly on my banking app on my phone. :cool:

    Morning :) - or should that be :( as I need to get ready for work in a minute!

    La E we got our real wood work surfaces off of ebay when we did our kitchen - 4 years ago now. Really glad we went for it. Incidentally we got our carcasses off of a card on a board in the SM. Paid £150 for 8 units from 1kea and then we bought new doors. I think we ended up spending £1800 on our kitchen, completely ripped it out, knocked down a wall and installed everything from scratch

    FVD yay to the job offer! I found adjusting to a lower income was easier than I thought - although I had a year without income so any was an increase! Sometimes I find it hard not having more money, but it's more like the idea of more money than the actual money itself iyswim? I find it hard that I can't just go and buy a load of stuff if I wanted to but mostly I don't. I don't think I'm explaining it very well but the time to myself is worth more than the few hundred pounds I've lost (actually it's more like £1000!)

    Anyway today:

    * [STRIKE]lunches already made [/STRIKE]:A
    * nsd? Hope so! nope!
    *[STRIKE] checked banking[/STRIKE]
    * fleabay a few things
    * get oh to print off ebay returns label
    * sort through my seeds and work out plan :D
    * [STRIKE]1/2 hour masters prep this evening[/STRIKE]
    *[STRIKE] listen to free book on medieval times :D[/STRIKE]
    * go swimming tonight to make the most of the membership :D
    * hang up washing

    Ok that'll do! Have a great day x

  • Morning all :hello: hope you GDG is ok today determined they tend to bounce back quite quickly. Sorry things were tough with you DD too. Take care of yourself.

    Well done on job fvd :T
    La e like your thinking re offsetting :T

    My Thursday will look a bit like this:
    WFH :D
    Meals from stores
    Check banking, surveys, FPL and £co
    Requested payment from 2 surveys sites and £co, all small but helps
    Paid my unexpected dividend payment off debt
    Log on to 2 accounts to see if DD switch to oh account has worked. Realised after I switched his account on every of his payments was a SO and not a DD so it wouldn't have qualified, have quickly swapped two to see that works.
    Some knitting tonight for relaxation
    Continue to use 'odd' teabags in tub that are a variety of flavours before new ones.

    Enjoy your day. Purps.
