Morning happy hump day! :) Been up since 5.30 - this blasted virus making me get up before the crack of dawn each day!

been productive already - despite doing very little! Armed with the exercise yesterday from that Ted talked I've planned what I want to achieve out of the day :)
*checked banking & updated frugal living ss
    *read martin's email
    * ordered free audio book (signed up to a month's free trial) saving £18.99!
    * cinnamon roll out of freezer for madam's lunch
    * signed up to do a ms assignment on Friday - that's Friday night dinner sorted ;)

    Still to do:
*[STRIKE] post a couple of letters[/STRIKE]
*[STRIKE][STRIKE] hang up washing[/STRIKE][/STRIKE] & do another load
    *[STRIKE] finish housework[/STRIKE]
    * taking madam to local zoo using membership cards saving £31! take packed lunch, snacks, flask of coffee did not happen
    * list on fleabay
    * might go for a swim & a sauna tonight depends on how I feel. Still not 100% not doing this and instead will do some initial brain storming for my personal statement

that'll do! Hope you all have a great day

    Morning everyone

    Here’s me:
    • Got pal’s wedding card with 7.5% discount card
    • OH and I took brekkie to work – overnight oats :A
    • Packed lunch :A
    • Switched dog food for another brand (similar composition) and saved around £18 per 10kg! :T Hopefully pooch face is ok with it…
    • PAD to CC
    • Will be keeping an eye on YNAB
    • Want to update bujo with my debt totals to see how much they have reduced since 1 Jan. :A

In spending-wise adventures, I have a £9 yoga class at lunch (although pal runs it and sometimes gives me a discount) and then we are off to our favourite Scandinavian home furniture shop tonight to look at kitchens again.

At least going to the £9 class will keep me away from the clothes shop that has a gorgeous dress that was £199 (!!) down to £49.90 and fits me perfectly… :o

    Morning Campers,
A good money saving start with 2 lovely hot baths from one lot of water....& my hair is drying naturally. No downstairs heating on as most of my jobs will be upstairs this morning.
*Dinner as per meal plans - bacon & mushroom pasta bake from freezer & use it up bag of salad.
    *Do a few surveys.
*Check CC account for heater refund.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Do this week's ironing if everything has dried sufficiently overnight on heated airer.
*List a few items on ebay.
*Round up all leftover yarn from recent sock orders & knit 1 pair of baby socks with each colourway. Will either list on ebay while the weather's cold or box up for my sister to sell for me on her autumn craft stall.
*Write the rest of Feb's & March's birthday cards.....all of which were either free or cost 25p from that rsther fab rummage basket in Waterstones the other week.
*Wrap friend's bday gifts using recycled materials from my wrappings box & a home made tag.
*Tiny bit of free fitness from walking down to post box.
*Tip out shrapnel box to see if I can make up any bags for paying into our Loan Pay Down Fund......
*And talking of which.....check bank personal messages to see if the process for making that big partial repayment into loan has progressed.
That'll be it for today as I also have to go out to a meeting tonight & I haven't prepared for it yet.
    Have a good day all,

A lot of hospital visits at the moment, hope everything turns out fine for everyone.

No news yet re the job I interviewed for (even though it's not right I'd probably take it in the interim) but worse no phone call from the branch I DO want to work at (though I did only apply last night :rotfl: )

When I was telling my mum about the job the other day she hadn't realized it was only part time and said 'oh, but you'll get a proper job if you can't manage, won't you?' like getting a 'proper' job in a dying industry is an easy option  I sound really ungrateful as she's been very generous to me since my dad died but she only ever worked part time in pocket money jobs and was supported by my dad her entire adult life (and still is via his generous pensions) while I've worked full time for the last 41 years (excluding 4 years when DS was pre school but even then I was living in a flat I'd bought outright myself.) [/end rant]

DSS and his GF and baby have been let down on the flat they were moving to on Friday so it is all systems go to try to find something in time or they will both be back at their respective parents from Friday. A lot of private landlord won't consider them as, although he is working full time, the still need help with housing benefit but they are viewing something with the local authority as we speak so fingers crossed.

Not a lot of moneysaving going on here, I bought a baguette from pr@t for lunch but broke it in half to do both breakfast and lunch.

A workmate was clearing their desk and gave me a smells gift pack which will go in the gifts drawer,

I think I have left it too long from scanning my last WBB order and sending it as it came up bar code not recognized, may put it inside the next box to get it there on the other bar code. The eBay package has been posted though so I will add that to my 'make £3 a day total.
DH is fancying saveloy and chips for dinner tonight, if he is paying I'm totally up for that! :rotfl: I will check out the YS counter, there was nothing much there last night so fingers crossed tonight might be a good night.

Hope you are all having a good day :)

  • Oh sorry HappyKitty, I am not sure that anything will really make you feel much better but hope you are OK.

Day off to take Dad to hospital (feel slightly guilty about having to take time off at such short notice but we only found out about this appointment at 4pm yesterday and he has no-one else to take him). I will have to do some work on job no. 2 though.

Washing over airer now finishing off in tumbler. Chicken thighs in sc to make chicken pie for tea.

My Wednesday night gym class has been cancelled until further notice. This is good in a way because its going to save me £24 this month - and money is tight. BUT my gym classes are really important for my anxiety busting so I need to decide whether to replace it with another class or whether I should just exercise for free (running/cycling/home spinning bike) on a Wednesday.

Now, must find some motivation to do some work!
  • FVD oh, part time jobs not being "proper" jobs. Yeah have had that too, like working from home means you are not actually working. Hope DSS and GF find something.

    Must do some work ......

Intrigued! Love a good Ted talk, will see if I can watch it on my mobile whilst waiting for DD as she does her class this evening. although...

I am procrastinating! I have been doing all the things I usually put off in order to put off what I needed to do! So ok, I have been productive but not in the right way. Would the Ted talk be more procrastination?! :D

But today I have finally addressed the issue on my credit report and faced up to the mess I have made of it :o:eek::o

I received the vouchers I bought online but they are dated and will give away the fact that I was delayed in buying them...how to explain

Washing up and clothes mountain sorted

Made a huge chilli last night and baked with DD so thats sorted us for a couple of days

Survey experiment still going strong and have worked out a system that means it doesn't take too much time but will hopefully earn a little extra each month towards present budget and small debt repayment.

Part way through budget rejig - must finish this so no longer in back of my mind! And can pay CC which is due tomorrow.

Right, must get on! I will find some sort of self control and stop shuffling around in a big avoidance dance!
