    Evening Frugalistas,
    Quick list today from me:
*First chilli seeds are popping through - first of the cheap homegrown food supplies this year!
    *Soup from freezer for lunch.
    *Did 3 surveys.
*Nipped out to Post Office to weigh 2 packages of hand knitted socks - there's previously been a real discrepancy in postal charges for these, so I wanted a definitve answer so I know what to charge people. Now sorted, hopefully.
*Withdrew cash for paying the fish man on Friday while out on another errand, instead of having to waste petrol on another trip into town.
*Beef rogan josh in the slow cooker as I type, & smelling gorgeous....even cat keeps sniffing the air hopefully. Have worked out calories content.....which will defo ensure a portion is saved to freeze for another meal.
*Received latest energy bill. Higher than last year (though still £283 in credit), but not surprised as we had that fab extra radiator (yes the one with the shonky leg which had to be sent back............which leads me onto.....
*Checked CC account to see if heater refund has appeared yet. Nope!
*Downstairs heating off all day.....it will be going on as soon as I've finished this though, as it's really chilly today.
*Overnight laundry drying on heated airer, which also helps keep our conservatory a degree or two higher on these very cold nights.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
    *Wrote letter (used recycled envelope)
Thanks for your good wishes. Forgot to mention yesterday that the Consultant I spoke to at the hospital said I should continue doing all my usual daily activities unless they cause me increased pain or discomfort, so I am really planning to get on top of the veggie sowing & garden clearing asap. I will take it steady & aim for shorter but more focused sessions. He also said all activities which help my general fitness & continued weight loss are good. Was pleased to hear this as I am absolutely HOPELESS at sitting around doing nothing!
    Cheers all,
    F x

  • Hi all
I have literally 4 minutes until I have to take ds to football training. He was fully recovered by about 3pm yesterday. Seems to have been a one off and the school policy is 24 hours clear, so back we both went today - as though we'd never been away.
Anyway - hope everyone is well and fighting fit. I've been non stop and this will continue until about half eight tonight when it'll be bedtime. Chalked up one busy day at work and another nsd.
Ally - sorry but I did have a bit of a giggle at your cooker situation. :o

    * home made carrot cake muffins for snacks :j Pleased with my batch cooking this week :rotfl:
    * didn't spend anything today :j
    * Mr Cheery made baked potato and a kind of curry thing using a combination of lentils and the scrapings of yesterday's leftover mash :rotfl:
    * cycled to work and back
    * just did Prolific Academic survey for 50p :j

    Tonight I will

  • Hi, today we had a cheap evening meal of jacket potatoes and other than a litre of milk it has also been a non spend day. Also took out cheaper pet insurance the other day which I also did through topcashback.
And not money saving or making for me but DD had an interview for a waitressing job today and has a trial shift Friday evening so fingers crossed for her.

  • Well some interesting things going on in our DFW world. Made me smile too Ally. A truly awful day here, nothing life threatening, just lots of things going wrong and conspiring against me.

Oh and I finished my day off by leaving my handbag at job no. 2 which is 6 miles away and by rights I shouldnt be there again until Thursday. There is actually nothing in it that I couldnt live without until then but I am one of those people who carries her life around in her bag so I might just pop and get it in the morning.
