Am wide awake, cannot get to sleep.  So much for these meds making me drowsy! They are not working tonight.

Walked the dog this morning. Had bacon & cheese & beans on toast & lots of cups of tea then a snooze. Spent the afternoon with no-dogs friend. Was a bit spendy

    petrol £15.02
late lunch wrap & drink £5.25
next blouse £15.50 in the sale reduced from £35
Mr T = grey jeans in sale £5.25 (reduced from £25 to £7 plus 25% off denim)
Mr T = jumper (not in sale) £19.50.
    Mr T = 24 toilet rolls just over £7
    (receipt is downstairs)
grapes reduced from £2 to 60p and Pepsi max on offer £3.50

I put everything on the credit card and will pay off in full once I get the bill after payday. Some will be covered by my grocery budget for October and the clothes will be covered from the birthday/ xmas money I still have left from DF.

Had a phone call from the estate agent asking me to submit a full and final bid if I want the seller to stop other viewings. The offer I put in was what the seller said to me she wanted (when the estate agent didn’t turn up to show me around) and she told me she would accept for a quick sale. Mixed messages making me anxious and wondering how much I can trust what else she told me. Have  decided not to increase my offer and keep looking.

A bit spendy maybe but some great bargains in there.
I would trust the owner who you seemed to have a rapport with, over the EA.
Were other viewings booked apart from yours?
I was hoping the full and final days were at an end...
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

  • Just reconfirm your offer and see what happens. EA's don't know left from right and have selective hearing. Don't overthink this.

    Shopping was productive.

Hope you got some late rest.

  • Thanks MF and dia.

Nice dog walk this morning. Psyched myself up and phoned the EA to confirm I will not be increasing my offer. They said they will let the seller know and get back to me.

Then I went to the vet to collect the dog’s flea and worming tablets which are free on her plan that DS pays for. Then popped to aldee for some food. I managed to make a shopping list and managed not to get worked up and run out again! Total spend £13.78. Hopefully that will last me a week with chicken breasts and some mince in the freezer.

I'm going to try and cut the grass this afternoon while it’s dry & sunny. Just got to find some energy. My mojo has gone. Rain forecast for tomorrow. Will try and relax first and maybe eat something. Stomach cramps again today, not sure if it’s the pills or the anxiety.

I am going to make a chilli tomorrow in the slow cooker using mince from the freezer plus beans and butternut squash, which should make several meals.

  • Lovely sunny morning with a very atmospheric mist over the fields. Am walking in my wellies now that the grass is so wet in the mornings with dew or rain.

Payday today 🤗 I’m not sure what is going to happen money wise this month as we are due to complete mid month. I have heard in the news that lenders are honouring already agreed mortgages. DS & his gf went for a 5 year fix agreed before interest rates first started going up. I think once we have exchanged I will feel a lot better.

Had an email from gas & electric they are reducing the direct debit from £125 to £58 to take into account the support scheme.

I will have to pay an increase in my mortgage due to the latest interest rate rise but that will be recalculated for a part month when I pay off the mortgage with the sale proceeds.

Haven’t heard back from the EA yet about the property I have offered on. Have booked to view another property on Saturday with a different EA.

  • Sounds like a photo opportunity!

When the sale goes through, it will reduce one stress.

Good luck with the viewing. Prompt the other EA Monday, unless this new one is on par / better then get your offer in and see which one accepts.

  • Bright and sunny this morning with a warm wind. Warmer and dryer than yesterday. The dog is not as wet after her walk and is now snoring in her chair ☺️

I am just having the last Belgian hot chocolate. They had sold out in aldee so I couldn’t get any more. Will try again next week as it is much cheaper than the well known brand and just as nice.

We need some milk so I will pop to the local coop. Nothing else planned apart from a viewing later this afternoon

I totally agree, the EA is trying it on. Keeping fingers crossed about this new house, I have a good feeling about this. I hope you are resting and enjoying things as all this house viewing is still stressful. I hope the weather is nice for you.
Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • The house I viewed is ok but just didn’t grab me. An ex rental empty property that would need some work mainly to the exterior including blown render at the rear / side recess & potential damp.

I have decided to wait until my sale goes through before making any major decisions. I’m keeping everything crossed that DS & his gf will still get their mortgage offer. There has been talk / rumours that people have had their mortgage offers cancelled.

Picked up 4 Pint bottle of milk on the way home and got a shepherds pie with lentils and root veg mash reduced from £3.50 to £1.33

Reported my meter readings online this morning. We have almost £300 credit on the account plus the support scheme & so they have reduced our direct debit from £125 to £58. No heating on yet.
