Got a bit wet out walking the dog this morning in the showery rain but thankfully we missed the pouring heavy rain that started after we got back.

I have been working out my budget based on paying all bills and no financial help from DS & gf. This is worse case scenario. If we complete mid month then I will recalculate once we have decided on split of bills.

    remaining 282.77
    (- food £150) = 132.77

    mortgage 235.03
(will check this on Monday when payment comes off my account as interest rates have gone up)
    water supply £13.38
    water waste 28.01
    tv licence 13.37
    mobile 9.23
vm / internet with compensation £49 (Normally £62 a month)

    Union £8.82
    council tax £167

  • Yes hoping sale goes through with ease.
Your budget looks good without gf and ds. Very doable

Had a phone call from the estate agent asking me to submit a full and final bid if I want the seller to stop other viewings. The offer I put in was what the seller said to me she wanted (when the estate agent didn’t turn up to show me around) and she told me she would accept for a quick sale. Mixed messages making me anxious and wondering how much I can trust what else she told me. Have  decided not to increase my offer and keep looking.
Have just had a call from the EA to say seller has accepted someone else’s offer at asking price.

The right one is out there for you and when you're a cash buyer doors will open, just hang on a few more days while your sale goes through.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Sorry. I now how you feel. It happened to me and regardless of the ins and outs it isn't nice. Like MF says, something will come along  :)

A nice looking property at a good price came on the market yesterday. DF is coming with me to view it later this week. On Monday I will ring my solicitor and get him to push for exchange and completion dates.
Once I have dates I will consider whether to stay in this area or move back up north and retire
    early

We started fixing up the old door which I picked up free locally a few months ago. It’s an old panelled door and we removed the old fashioned glass. A visit to the local glass place and it will take a week for new glass as it has to be toughened. I am considering just turning it into a panelled door the same as all the others upstairs. DS & his gf and the dog are away for the weekend so we should be able to get it painted & hung.

DF treated us to Chinese when he arrived and we went to the pub for a meal last night 2 for £11.49 and 2 drinks came to less than £20.  I got a gammon joint and cauliflower in lidll so we will have gammon and cauliflower cheese tonight and any leftover gammon will be sliced up for sandwiches or frozen. The rest of the cauli cheese will be used on Sunday with a roast chicken.

It’s a sunny morning. No dog walking but will get plenty of exercise walking around with DF.

If the door is for upstairs and none of the others have glass, it makes sense for it to be a full panel instead.

    Good luck with the viewing.

Hopefully DS and GF are also pushing to exchange and complete, I'd do it on the same day as you're not going anywhere aside from to a mates overnight maybe. Gives all three of you security knowing it's gone through.

Enjoy your time with DF, hopefully having him around is easing some stress 💐

I am so sorry about the house that you viewed and them selling it despite your offer. It is fab your dad is down and supporting you. The new door sounds like an interesting project. I hope you are having a good weekend.

    Spending so far

    lidll. 19.60
    b&q. 44.90
    morresons. 18.87
    b&q £41.16

Some bits bought in b&q will go back for a refund as they are not needed now we are putting wood in where the glass was removed.

Yesterday’s purchases included a new tool box for DF for xmas £6.49. Will also repeat his magazine subscription which will also cover his birthday and Father’s Day. Will get him a little something to unwrap on xmas day. He’s using the tool box already as his old one was falling apart
