  • Congratulations on sale completion. A lot for you to think about now.
I also vote for a garden for you.
Just a thought but NS&I are offering 1.2% so you can stick it all in there for now instead. Instant access and a safe/easy option

    OMG, congratulations!

I'm so pleased for you 🎉🍻🎉

You don't need to draw down a pension to be retired, people do retire and live off independent means eg savings, before taking their pension. For the insurance you would be retired rather than unemployed, it's not as if you'd be signing on which would back up being unemployed. Then when you get a job you've decided to come out of retirement.

  • Documents have been handed in to the EA. The solicitor for my sale has agreed to act for me on the purchase even though it is out of his area. I have the names of a couple of surveyors to look into & book a survey next week. The sellers have already moved out & confirmed no upward chain 🤗 Not sure if it’s wishful thinking to hope to be in by Christmas.

Refund from cancelled Home insurance £75.04 has been credited back onto my credit card bill, so I currently have a credit of £29.73. That will help pay for petrol home.

Went to the garden centre with DF today and had lunch while we were there. Total spend £20.40 including drinks.

Oh my goodness this is wonderful. It has all fallen into place. Hurrah!!!!! I hope you had a good day with DF. So chuffed for you. Is there any chance your work has any connections up north so there is a similar type job you can take on? That is soo much to deal with though. I think you should take your time with a new job as moving home is a huge adventure. I am soooooooooo pleased for you. It is falling into place.

Brilliant news, and Congratulations on moving back 'Up North' (I'm a bit biased being a Northern lass!)
Take your time and don't drive yourself scatty trying to get everything done in a day.  Things will work out for you.  (((hugs))) XX

It's all moving in the right direction. I'd mention to the solicitor about aiming for 15/12 as it can happen especially without a mortgage holding things up 🤗
