So sorry to hear about the house. More properties will appear and being a cash buyer is a good position to be in.

Hope you're feeling better soon, try and eat a little even if it's just a bit of toast.

    Have some virtual flowers 🌹💐🌹

Thanks @southern_chick and @MovingForwards. I felt hot, light headed and queasy most of the day yesterday but paracetamol seems to be keeping it bearable. I have had the fan on all day and night. Stuff the cost 🤦‍♀️

DS & gf have said they will wait until Sept to exchange/complete so I can “port” part of my mortgage if I want to buy a more expensive house. It gives me more options with £10k to £20k more. Not what I really wanted but at least it gives me more choices. The original port was agreed by my lender until 1 August so I may need to reapply or extend it. I didn’t think I was going to need it and am still hoping to be mortgage free.

I fancied mash & gravy last night so I ordered a child’s beef carvery for delivery £4.99 plus delivery, with a ginger beer. The meal was huge! I ate the beef, a little mash, Yorkshire pudding, peas and some gravy. There is enough for another meal with 4 large roast potatoes, more mash, peas & carrots, stuffing and cauli cheese leftover. They forgot the ginger beer so the cost of that was refunded.

Just drinking my cup of tea then will snooze until 7 then walk the dog. Wfh today.

The fan is short-term and you'll be able to balance that cost against something else another time.

Taking a small mortgage opens up options and you can overpay within the fixed term, quickly becoming mortgage free. Use it to your advantage.

Meal was a good price and to get another portion out of it is worth it.

Still very wobbly on my feet today so just went round the pond with the dog this morning, sitting on benches along the way. DS & his gf took her for a run on the field this evening now it’s cooled before it got dark.

Had a bit of a bad day so used some leave and finished early and fell asleep for nearly 2 hours on the sofa in the kitchen while it was cooler. I’ve packed some food for tomorrow to take to the office. Slices of beef & tomatoes, slices of cucumber and grapes.

I’ve booked a viewing for a house later this week. I am having to use my summer holiday which would have been 2 weeks in August. New leave year starts in September. Lots of houses now do viewing days with the estate agent so you have to go on that day or not at all. This property is bigger than I had planned and would mean £10k mortgage. But the positives are it’s nearer to friends, near a lovely park and a small garden with no grass 🤗

  • Can’t get to sleep tonight. Have brought the fan upstairs and had a cool shower and a couple of paracetamol but I’m feeling really unsettled.

I’ve moved some money into savings accounts
    dog food fund £15 = £75
    car fund £50 = £650
    household bills £100 = £100
    xmas/bdays £50 = £190

    Total savings house move £7806
    emergency fund £1000
    birthday/xmas money received £1000

I should have enough money left once DS& gf get paid on 15th and pay their share of the bills to put the £300 searches money I lost back into the house savings account. I have been saving £250 a month into this account so it’s only an extra £50 but at least I can build the money back up while I’m looking for somewhere else to buy.

The surveyor has sent an email asking for my bank details for the refund so I will ring their admin dept tomorrow.

It seems a bit cloudier today. Usually the sun is pouring through the front windows in the mornings. Hopefully it will be cooler for puppy dog home alone today.

I should have enough petrol in the car for 3 days in the office this week. I need to get a birthday card & post it for Friday which I can do on the way home. I already have stamps.

Changing plans to attend viewings is a short-term thing and worth it, new holiday allowance isn't too far away.

Savings look good and great news about the refund.

Hope you're feeling better this morning.

    Too hot 🥵

When I walked the dog this morning it was cooler and I felt better. Bumped into my 2 dogs friend and got a hug and sympathy and a good chat.

Into the office and air con was on. Heat blast when leaving but soon had air con on in the car. Home again and windows & back door open and fans on but there is no escape from the heat.

I phoned the survey company and arranged a refund to my bank account. I didn’t ask how much, I will just see what goes in. That will be a consideration when I decide whether to use them next time.

Tomorrow I will get a birthday card on my way home and some more squash & Pepsi max. Am so fed up with water

    Hope the hug helped.

Good call on the squash and pop, water is boring.

Everyone I know in England is going on about the potential temperatures this week. We always have to moan about the weather!
