  • Thanks MF. I’ve been out and bought an assortment of birthday cards 4 for £1 and 3 x friend cards 69p each and 1 x age 16 card 99p = total £4.06. Wrote & posted two in the post office 1st class total £1.90. I will take the money out of the birthday/ xmas fund.

I still have some petrol in the car but it’s going into the garage tomorrow and then I have to drive into work for 2 days so I put £10 in. £162.9 per Litre.
Just relaxing now until I start work later

  • Feeling a bit stressed today
Need to walk the dog at 7am then take car to garage for 8am and walk home (10 mins walk). Start work at 9am & need to phone the pharmacy at 9am when they open to find out what’s happening with my meds. I ordered 2 tablets last week but the dr had only sent one when I collected from the pharmacy on Saturday. I have run out of diabetes meds. I have been feeling unwell since the weekend but covid test was negative.

Still need to phone the roofer

  • Car back from the garage and car fund will be £188.40 lighter.

Phoned the pharmacy this morning just before 9am & got straight through & they sent an urgent request for the other meds that were not supplied last week. Prescription came through after I finished work so I set off to walk there & collect on way to collecting the car. Bumped into my non dog owning friend and she walked with me. Then we took the car for a spin & had a pot of tea & homemade cakes in local tea shop. £6.50 each. 😋

Gammon with broccoli and cauliflower cheese for dinner. Cheese sauce made with single cream warmed with some frozen grated cheese.

Still need to phone the roofer

First day working back in the office tomorrow. Have sorted some snacky bits to take including chopped up chicken sausages, boiled egg & mayo, mini tomatoes and cucumber battons & grapes. I do not get a lunch as I work a shorter day so it needs to be things I can eat quickly and easily at my desk with no mess.

At least you've got the car budget.
Great news about the meds and cake, impromptu trips are the best.
Lunch sound good, as does your tea.
Hope your day goes well and it's not too much of a shock to the system.

  • Awful in the office yesterday. Could have cried on drive home. Back there again today.

Puppy dog was sick again. Mice have been in the utility room again. Asked DS to check trap but he hasn’t. 😕 Started horrible case forced on me by another manager at work & it will take until next week to clear. Still haven’t phoned the roofer.

Just looking forward to 4 days off. Have a few meals in so will go shopping next week when I’m on a late shift. Picked up a couple of ready meals from co op chilli and rice & cottage pie reduced to £1.09 each. I will use a tin of tuna from my store cupboard today for lunch with mayo and salad plus mini cheese & grapes for snacks at work.

What a day, can't stand it when managers pass on the crabby stuff, that's why they're managers to deal with those kind of cases.

    Hope PD feels better later.

After you sell and buy, could you afford to drop a day. I know it will alter your final pension a bit, but may save your sanity as you finish the last few years off. Some PS places do it as a phased retirement and there's no pension change.

Hope you had a better day today.  Sometimes life is just !!!!!! XX
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
  • Thanks MF and Chrystal. Yesterday was just as bad in work but at least it’s over now for 4 days 🤗

Yesterday morning was foggy and damp. The dog enjoyed rolling in the wet grass 😆 I do not see natural daylight in the office and it is air conditioned so it was a surprise to step out into warm sunshine. I drove to kfc after work and treated myself to chicken and corn and an ice cold Pepsi max. 😋 Payment will come out of my entertainment fund.

I am home alone for the weekend 🤗 DS & gf and the dog have gone away to see gf family. I have so much that I need to do but I also need to relax. I am going to contact friends and try to meet up with a few on different days

I will go shopping on Tuesday so I need to make my food stretch a bit. I still have
    1 box raisin “shreddies” cereal
    1 pack bacon
    bread rolls
    2 chicken fillets
    1 slice gammon
    cheese
    pasta
    rice
    frozen roast potatoes and parsnips
    frozen veg

I need to walk to the local co op, only 10 mins away, and get milk & eggs.

Plus I have £35 left in the entertainment fund which should cover any drinks or food out with friends.

Have a lovely long weekend everyone

  • Have started bleach cleaning the bathroom and I am waiting for the floor to dry so I can then clean the sink & bath, then I can have a shower & hair wash.

Think I will also have a bit of a pamper, do eyebrows, legs & pedicure & moisturise using up a lovely scented one I got for Christmas.

I have put bait down for the mice while the dog is away. It’s in places inaccessible to dogs but I will clear it away and hoover all downstairs before the dog comes home just to make sure there is none lying around.  Towels are in the washing machine & should dry on the line. It’s warm & sunny but forecast to cloud over later.

I will have a gentle stroll around the pond & nature reserve later on my way to the local shop.

This is a bank HOLIDAY Skinty, you don't need to tackle so much in one day and need to rest, have fun and be a lady who lunches.

(I know, you've no cleaning fairy!)

Hope the weather stays nice and you get out and about, the fresh air and change of scenery will do good.
