  • Thanks MF. I had 2 weeks off just before Easter and 2 days bank holidays over Easter. I took this Friday just gone off & have this Monday off. But even now just thinking of going back on Tuesday makes my stomach churn and I feel sick and teary. Feel a bit silly but can’t seem to snap out of it.

Had a lovely walk with the dog this morning, it was sunny & warm. The biting wind from yesterday has gone. Saw a little robin which followed us along the fence. Sat enjoying the warmth of the sun by the pond, it’s unusual to be so warm at 8am.

Load of washing just finishing and will be hung out. Just messaged my friend to see if she wants to meet up today.

There's nothing silly and snapping out of it will happen in time. Try and slow down a bit, if your manager is sympathetic let them know you're currently overwhelmed and ask for less work to be allocated for a few weeks.

Hope you managed to meet up.

Skinty are you on any medication for stress? I think you need to ring dr and ask if you can go to a higher dose or try others. If possible try to take a few days off. House selling, illness in family and a stressful job are a lot to deal with. I am just stressed with the work but coping- only due to my pills i am sure.
Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • Met up with my friend and went to wertherspoons for lunch. Had a nice meal and drink £6.80 and had a good chat. Was good to get things off my chest & friend made some suggestions which may help.

Then went to aldee and spent £13.16. All spends today were from cash in my purse which DF gave me at the beginning of the month when I last saw him. Just a bit of change left. I hate using cash now since lockdown.

Got some beef mince for a chilli, plus onions and a tin of tomatoes. I already have a tin of baked beans & kidney beans and butternut squash to pad it out. I have batch cooked pork & chickpea curries in the freezer. I have a couple of chicken breasts in the freezer and a gammon steak. I have veg in the freezer and tinned fruit, plus a bag of fresh pears that I bought last week that are just becoming ripe.  I also bought chicken sausages for lunches & have mini cheeses, grapes and eggs which I will hard boil. Still have a box of cereal from last week. So apart from milk I shouldn’t need anything else before payday.

Walked the dog when I got home then have been snoozing on the sofa so I am now wide awake 😕

Managed about 2 hours sleep last night. Electric company came and fixed the meter. Roofer came & said about £60 so will wait for quote & go ahead.

    That's a good price.
Hope you managed some rest today, but also did something just for you.

  • Have taken some holiday from work until after the bh. Walked the dog to the park and we had a sit on a shaded bench. Dog still being sick but vet check up ok & so I cooked her some chicken and rice. Test results not back yet.
Spoke to counsellor tonight on the phone.
Finally caught a mouse in the electric trap. Have reset it. If we caught any in the manual traps that would be a job for DS 🤢

Hopefully filling your time with good things will help you cope a little better. You've loads going on and I'm not surprised it's got to you.

  • The council tax rebate £150 has appeared in my bank account. I’m keeping it in my savings account for now until we sort out house sale as there is already a credit of £290 on the energy account. The fixed rate ends 1 May and I am leaving the direct debit at £95 for now & if we go over that each month it will use some of the credit. Saves messing about with the rent.

DS & gf have their survey next week. I messaged the roofer and asked if he could come before then. No reply. Hopefully it won’t make any difference and their mortgage will be approved. House is worth much more than the mortgage they are applying for even in its current state.

I’m due to go to see my friend this afternoon in her “new” house. I haven’t seen her since she moved so it will be nice to catch up.

Don't worry about the survey, especially with you selling it for a lower price.
The CT refund will come in handy as a cushion for winter usage.

Enjoy the visit, hope your friend has settled in.
