Can you do any bits on the side to boost income and speed that up? Matched betting, prolific, UserTesting are my favourite. I also do Appen/Lionbridge freelance tasks.1

You've done loads!
Can you open up a regular saver each year and fill it to the max each month, the interest will help boost numbers.
Alternatively add extra to a pension, even keeping it as cash and not investing it, to get the extra top up from the government. Again, it will help with your numbers.
Spend less buying your next property, to free up money for retiring, or take in a M - F lodger.
Depending on where you buy and available space, you could build up long shelf life foods, to cover the first 3 - 5 years of retirement, only needing to buy fresh.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Thanks for all the suggestions I will seriously think about some of those. I definitely will not be having a lodger after putting up with DS & his gf for last couple of years 😆 For a decent 2 bed in a decent location it’s £250k upwards. Anything under that you have to compromise on condition or location. I’ve done the calcs without any equity remaining at the moment.
Have been out with my friend this afternoon. I got a bag for work from mat Alan £12.50. Then shoes & a top and 2 pairs of trousers from george with 20% off £29.20. Will take the money out of Christmas gift money received. I hate to break into the nice round sum on my signature below but what’s the point of having the money sat there and living in rags! 😆0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

The top & trousers are going back to george for a refund. The top fabric is lovely but it is cut too short. The trousers don’t fit. They don’t have changing rooms any more so I couldn’t try them on 😕 I’m keeping the shoes 😁 Grey suede ballet pumps with gunmetal chain detailing across the front. I will at least have a couple of new pairs of nice shoes 😳

The length, or should I say lack of, tops drives me up the wall.
I'm tall, 5' 9", and finding something that doesn't end up looking ridiculously short is difficult. Guess the designers are trying to save money on material!I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy2 -
At least you get to keep the shoes! You'll find even better suitably sized / designed clothes soon.
We're all counting down with you 😃Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

Savings interest rates are going up too. The RS now pays 0.25% over £1k, think it's 0.01% over £20 or £25k, but didn't look into that as it would take a while before we reach that!
Hopefully DS and GF are making some headway into the purchase.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Thanks MF I had an email too from my bank about the interest rate
DS has spoken to broker and is in the process of providing all required documents which reminds me, I must re-write my “gift” letter to confirm the amount is coming from the equity of the sale & does not require repaying.
Energy fix ends 1 May 2022 current £923 a year increase to standard rate £1769 a year 😳 I expected it to double but it’s still a shock seeing the figures

They might have a special form for you to fill in / sign.
It is shocking to see the increase, worse when they list the 'fix' options and it works out to nearly 6 months mortgage payments!
Hope you've nice things planned for the weekend.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2
