  • Tell DS and GF the mortgage is going up as you're not in a fixed rate, ask what they are doing as if they're not buying yours you'll fix the mortgage again!

  • Walked the dog this morning, not too windy. Drove to breast screening mobile van at asd@ car park & then did some shopping.

By the time I came out the storm had hit us & lots of debris and bins blowing about. I just missed a bin flying in front of the car on the drive home. Parked at home & our recycling bin had blown over and contents flying down the road. Picked up what I could. Car door & car boot door nearly torn out of my hands. 😱

Rotisserie chicken wings for lunch £1.20 cheaper than kfc. Started work at 12 until 6pm. I’ve just had a bisto lamb cottage pie for dinner £1. Will do some batch cooking in slow cooker tomorrow & cook and freeze whole cauli & whole broccoli in my steamer. This week will be chilli & beef stew & beef curry.

I put £10 petrol in the car, well £10.02! as I never manage to get exactly £10 😆 I was supposed to be going to see my friends new house but she’s had to call off. I’m happy not to drive as we have gales forecast for tomorrow but not as bad as today according to the forecast!

  • I saw the winds have been bad in England, hopefully things will settle over the weekend.

A couple of my mates have lost part of their roofs, everyone else seems to have been ok.

Makes my moans about snow and stupid drivers pale into insignificance reading what you're going through.

Some petrol pumps have a button to say how much you want, I've not tried it and can't say if the random pennies still happen.

Wing treats are good, meal plans are great for this time of year.

  • Lovely sunny morning walk with the dog. Lots of branches down. I inspected my roof on the way back & mine is ok but 2 doors down have lost a couple of tiles so I let them know. Next doors aluminium & Perspex greenhouse is in multiple pieces strewn across their garden. He says it’s not salvageable & his insurance excess is too high to claim. I always have my excess as low as possible. The roof at the back of our row of houses is fine.

I have just put beef & onions into the slow cooker with curry sauce. I will add peppers and chickpeas towards the end of cooking time. Then I will mix in some of the cooked broccoli and cauliflower.

  • It's carnage across my gardening groups, even ones designed to withstand storms haven't. Main thing is you are all ok, as are your homes.

Windy grey day today. Walked the dog earlier. Beef stew on in the slow cooker.

Car tax paid on credit card £130. Will be paid in full after payday from household bills account. Increase of £5 from last year.

Really fancy a kfc for lunch. I have half a bag of potato wedges and half a bag of mini garlic chicken kievs in the freezer so I am going to chuck them in the oven to save money

Well done on resisting the takeaway!
  • My friend phoned this afternoon to go for a walk but the weather was awful so we just walked to the local pub. 😆 Couple of drinks and a chat was lovely, spent just over £10.

Had stew for dinner from slow cooker and I have frozen the rest.
