  • I was so exhausted yesterday afternoon I fell asleep after work. DS’s gf took the dog to the forest. I just had a box of mini duck spring rolls for tea from aldee, just 12 mins in the oven, with some cheese & crackers and chilli jam relish.

It’s a relief to have a day off today. I will walk the dog this morning then I am going to get my hair done and go to town.

List of stuff I need to get

    Black Jeans/trousers
    Christmas card for DF
nice choc gluten free for DS’s gf
Socks novelty xmas for DS & gf
    gluten free chocolate coins

I will catch up with all your posts later. Going to try and snooze 😴

Enjoy your day off! Hope you find everything you need in town (my gf best friend goes mad for the co-op gluten free rocky road but not sure if that's posh enough?)

It is the time of year when we are falling asleep after work. A sign that we need the Christmas break i think. I hope you had a good day and managed to find nice black jeans and the chocolate.

  • Friday - walked the dog then went & had my hair done. Lovely and relaxing morning chatting to my hairdresser who works from home & has done my hair for years. Cost £45 paid from household bills account

Then drove to george and was disappointed to find they have done away with their changing rooms altogether. Not just closed for covid but completely dismantled & gone. I wandered round for ages and found one pair of wonder fit jeans that looked the right size £20 and a glittery light grey cardi with silver glittery buttons £18. Tried the jeans this morning & they are a good fit but I’m not sure about the cardi & it may go back. I have 100 days to return it for a refund.

Had a wander round the Christmas aisles and got some gluten free galaxy chocolate £2.50 and some gluten free chocolate coins. Also some normal choc coins for DS. Picked up 4 chicken thighs from the hot deli counter for £2 (There was actually 5 thighs in the box when I got home 🤗) and some baking potatoes. Total cost £49.01

The galaxy chocolate went through the till at £3 but I was sure it was cheaper so I checked & took a photo of the shelf label. Went to customer services and got 50p refund and a free gift card for £2. So I used that to get a lindt santa for DS. 🤗

Had a couple of the chicken thighs for lunch and froze the rest. Had a snooze on the sofa then walked the dog. Liver (from aldee) and onion gravy, with jacket potato and veg from freezer for dinner. 3 portions for the freezer.

Saturday- walked the dog at 7am it was v dark but dry. Quick shower and hair wash then off to GP & had my covid booster 8.30am & then popped into aldee (opposite GP) for a top up shop. Still no peach or pear squash 😕 but did get chicken mini fillets, tissues and chilli sauce on my list. Did however also get a large bottle of Diet Coke (which actually is pretty nice) 17p plus crisps both not on my list & chocolate 🤦‍♀️ Also not on my list.
    Cost £7.57 grocery budget.

Home and rested my arm. It’s not too painful and I feel ok, no real side effects. Beef, onions, peppers and curry sauce in the slow cooker. Got one load of washing out & line dried. Chilli chicken wings for lunch, then lounged on the sofa scoffing crisps and chocolate 😆 Took the dog out for an afternoon walk in the last of the sun. Beef curry for dinner, added some cooked broccoli and cauliflower from the freezer. 2 portions into freezer.

Wrote a few more Christmas cards

You're getting a lot done and doing well with budgets. Shopping trip sounds relaxing.
Hopefully your arm will be ok.
    Ummm yummy food!

  • Had a nice walk with the dog this morning. Cold north wind so I was well wrapped up, but it was a sunny & bright morning. Clouded over later and a few spots of rain this afternoon.

Went to t*sco this afternoon with my non-car owning friend. I got peach juice, 4 pints milk, pepsi max cans, “stocking fillers”
for DS & his gf, including a pair of xmas socks for them each & options hot chocolate (for me!)

Total spend £24.63 reduced to £21.63 with my club card. I must split my bills and work out what to take from grocery fund & amount to take from xmas fund. It’s a family tradition to have a pair of socks & chocolate coins in your “stocking”. 😆

Friend bought her Christmas groceries so I’m glad it helped her & I dropped her back home with all her shopping bags.

It's great that you helped your friend and managed to do both Christmas shopping and also your own shopping too. It is starting to get darker earlier. Hope you are resting now like me. Roll on the hols.

Had a bit of a meltdown at work yesterday. Counting down to 2 weeks off over Christmas.

Wrote more Christmas cards yesterday. I have used one book of 12 second class stamps. I need to get to the shop today after work for more stamps. Will use money from the Christmas fund. Also need cash for the meal/taxi on Friday
