Sage? As in the herb? If any friends / neighbours have guinea pigs they love it!

    Meals look tasty, great variety.

  • I never knew that about sage MF. It grows in my garden and has large spikes of purple flowers. It’s lovely for cooking and I cut off large sprigs of leaves and throw them on the bbq coals, gives off a lovely smell.

Don’t know anyone with guinea pigs. My sister has one when we were young & I had a netherland dwarf rabbit. Love the sound when guinea pigs squeak 😊

Forgot to mention I put the thermal insoles in my wellies yesterday and my feet were warm & toasty this morning. They were actually 2 pairs for £1 in pound land. I cut one pair 2 sizes larger, as wellies are always bigger & wider than your normal size.

I take loads over to SIL piggies and they can't get enough of it! You could always dry some and use it over winter.
Need toasty feet as the weather is turning.

It’s very dark this morning. I’m just about to get up and walk the dog. Food today will be from stores. Breakfast will be cereal, tuna sandwich for lunch & stew for dinner.

Next dry day we have I need to cut the grass. I had hoped to have done it for the last time when DF was here, but the sun and showers have meant it’s got long again! Very mild 17 degrees forecast here for the next few days.
So far I have only had the heating on once for 15 minutes.

The sage is so large MF it still has plenty of leaves left to use fresh throughout the winter. Then it will have lots of fresh new shoots in spring and spikes of purple flowers. It’s a fab plant for the garden.

Sage grows so quick and gets a good haircut in winter, unfortunately it's one herb I really don't like and TomBo uses a lot of it when cooking 🤢

Temperature sounds good for the time of year, hopefully you'll get a dry day and can now the lawn.

I have treated myself to a new pair of boots for the winter from shoe zone £29.99 with free delivery. They arrived today and are sooo comfy it’s like wearing slippers 😊 I will use the household bills account which includes savings for shoes / boots / clothes

It’s very mild out this morning. Must be the tropical air they were talking about on the weather forecast. I think it’s due to last a few more days. Then it will drop from 17 degrees to 12 🥶

I think I am prepared for winter. Coats, scarf and waterproof trousers and gloves sorted. New woolly hat £3, new boots (non dog walking) £29.99. Thermal insoles in my wellies! We have a couple of cans of de-icer for the cars leftover from last year. I even have a snow shovel in the shed 😆 I bought it cheap last time we had bad snow several years ago and it hasn’t snowed much since! The clocks go back this weekend so an extra hour in bed 🤗 and at least mornings will be lighter for dog walking.

This morning I have sorted the dog and I am back in bed with a cup of tea. Later I am going to walk the dog and put towels on to wash & hang out & hope to cut the grass this afternoon. I was too tired after work yesterday.

At least you're prepared for it!
Thanks for the reminder about the clocks as I'd forgotten.
    Hope your day went well.

  • Thanks MF. Yesterday was warm and sunny. I walked the dog then worked until the afternoon. Then I cut the grass and walked the dog again in the evening before it got dark. DS and gf were at work, but DS’s gf walked the dog lunch time & put some washing out, which I brought in for them before it got dark.

Hopefully that will be the last time this year for cutting the grass! Warm & dark this morning, I will walk the dog later before work.

I am working late on Friday so I am going to pop into town and return the cardi I bought in mat alan. It’s lovely, warm & soft but is multi coloured and just doesn’t go with any of my patterned tops.

Have arranged to go to the range on Saturday with my house selling friend to look at their Christmas stuff, (I am not planning on buying anything) and we are hoping to meet some of the girls in the local pub after. Will be paid out of entertainment fund for November. I know it wont be quite November but there is nothing left in October’s  entertainment fund, this month seems to be going on and on!
