  • Hope you are feeling better SW.

I have had a bit of a splurge this month MF, mostly diy stuff and going out / meals out while DF was here. I used the £300 I had saved for a new office chair as I can keep mine for working at home and work are now providing a new one for the office.

Nice dog walk this morning. Windy but warm. It was blowing a gale in the night and heavy rain but the draught excluder on my bedroom window has done the trick as there was no howling or whistling through the gaps and the curtains were not blowing!

I have enough of the excluder left to do the spare bedroom window this weekend

You've done well on the budget and got loads done. It's great the draught excluder has stopped the air coming in.

Hope the weather picks up a bit for the weekend.

  • It’s freezing outside this morning 🥶 and still we have gales today. I opened the door to let the dog out & shut it again very quickly! Dog didn’t hang around out there either today 😆

I am glad I have put my winter duvet and a throw on my bed. Will need to wrap up warm for dog walk later.

  • You've reminded me that I need a decent office chair. I also saw a laptop stand. It raised the screen and they had a separate keyboard. I am aware I am looking down instead of looking at the screen level on, if that makes sense?

    Excluder is a good idea.

It has been cold today, I popped my head out the window.
Hope your walk went well and PD is a bit more confident about going out again.

Thanks MF. She is fine going out in daylight but refuses to leave the garden in the dark. This has been made worse by the red arrows flying over our house last night as it was starting to get dark! Sounded like the roof was lifting off!

It was a cold windy walk this morning (Thursday) but the sun was shining and I had my winter dog walking coat on & waterproof thermal gloves. A few branches down & bins blown around but no major damage from the gales.

@doingitanyway I could not work without a decent chair. When we first started working from home I had my laptop on top of a box on my desk so the top of the screen was level with my eyeline but could only check basic email until my 2 monitors were delivered. I could not work for any length of time on a laptop. Hope you manage to find something that works for you.

I have a list of things I need to buy on Saturday when I go to town. I made the mistake of looking on mat Alan website for a new quick drying bath mat (old one mouldy underneath & will not wash off) and saw lots of lovely cardigans and tops which snuck into my virtual basket 😬 I will go into store and try to avoid putting stuff in my basket!

    Pound land insoles thermal
    Wilko paper & pens
    Shoe zone boots
    Primarni hat
    Mat alan bath mat

Good grief, don't think many would have liked them that close!

When did they last send a voucher, one must be due soon. I'm still using the pmark mat, which is coming up to 5 years old or do you mean the one which goes in the bath?
M'alan is the one shop where there's so many nice things and the quality is good too, on what I've picked up. They remind me of how m-rks used to be years ago.

Poor doggie, it is a frightening time with loud fireworks and fly pasts. I am glad no major damage was done after the gales and that you had a good walk, you are v brave as it is so cold.  With regard to the bathmat, I like that shop but haven't been for such a long time.

We didn’t know it was the red arrows at the time, just heard the massive rumble / jet engines going over, followed by lots of “what the hell was that!!” DS’s gf looked it up & someone local had reported seeing them going over at the same time! Where would we be without goo gle these days 😆

It was bitter cold yesterday morning but is milder this morning. How sad am I still up when puppy dog is not here 😆 She’s gone house sitting elsewhere with DS for a few days but my body clock still has me awake at the same time. I have emptied the dishwasher and am back in bed with a cup of tea. Later I will wash bedding and hang out to dry while I go into town.

I have to say it was so cold last night I put the heating on for 15 minutes to take the chill off. 🥶 If I can, I wear another jumper and use a throw on the sofa and have a warm drink, but I’m not a martyr and if it gets to the point where it’s too cold I'm lucky we can afford to put the heating on.
