  • What food does PD get? There's some which are for working dogs as it gives them enough energy, it also happens to be cheaper than non-working food. Possibly look online and see what it's classed as.
4 is still quite young, maybe next year she will slow down a bit.

I agree with SW, work stresses do appear in dreams, plus you've the stress of doing your house up and waiting for DS and GF to buy so you can sell and downsize.

I'm not sure I do get the emails, unless they get lost in the mountain of others I receive. M-talan, I'm looking at you and your daily emails!!

We feed her on working dog direct from northern manufacturer (cheaper as you don’t pay vat on working dog food) she’s been on it for years now & it suits her. Plus a carrot a day 😆 (occasionally a little bit of apple, cucumber, banana) & a little peanut butter smeared in the bottom of her bowl when I “go to work” - or go back to bed at 5.30am now I’m working from home 😆 If this new work rota comes in it will be all change again. I always worked 6.30am to 12.30 in the office. Currently working 9am-3pm at home, but the new working hours will be rota’d between 8am - 8pm ☹️

I have ordered a new jumper & top plus cardigan using MSE code everything £4.50 plus delivery total £17.45. I removed 3 items. I bought short pj’s from them a few years ago and they were good & washed well but eventually the top got holes in it & the elastic went in the shorts. Got my money’s worth out of them though.

  • It's the trade off with the food, just need to find a way for her to burn the energy off.

Make sure you've enough batch cooked foods in the freezer, quick reheat items for when you're on the later shift. For now the job is a means of funding your lifestyle, when you do downsize, weigh up your options again.

Sounds like you've ordered some good things.

  • I don’t think it’s the food. She’s been on it for years & the behaviour has only been the last few weeks. Also her diet / weight/ exercise has been monitored by the vet & she lost weight & has been ideal weight for 2 years now, so she’s burning it off.

It’s not the food that will be a problem for me on late shifts, it’s the exhaustion. I struggle to work past 3pm & dr and hr are aware. I will have to work from home on those occasions. So I need to look for a permanent place to put my office set up. At the moment I am in the living room bay window as it’s the only place my desk will fit. May need to get my saw out 😆

  • You only need a small corner for a WAH set up, you've done it for months already so rotational shifts, blended WAH / office is going to be the same.
The great think about doing the later shift at home is you can get up and have a walk around, stick your head outside for a few minutes, splash your face. Also you can rest your mind for longer in the mornings, even if you're not asleep.
    I know it's exhausting.

  • Another Sunday night/ Monday morning cannot sleep before work. 😕

Quick dog walk this morning still bitter cold. Weight same as last week, thought I’d put more on as feel bloated.

Went with DS’s gf to mr T to get cauliflower & cream to make cauli cheese & was surprised by the amount of Aldi price matches & club card deals so I decided to do my weekly shopping while I was there. Total spend £35. Should last until 23rd. Over budget by £5 as I bought extras, pepsi max cans £3 & box magnum ice creams £2. 🤦‍♀️

Back home & relaxed watching tv. It was warmer in the afternoon but raining. Took the dog to the park in the rain & she had a run around after her ball and rolled in the mud 😆

DS’s gf cooked a roast chicken dinner & invited me to join them. I offered up some veg & cauli cheese but was told they had enough veg already so I will save it for another day. Free dinner & cooked by someone else ? Yes please 🤗 was delish 😋

Supposed to be 12 degrees tomorrow, so I look forward to a nice dog walk in the morning. Just need to switch my brain off & get some sleep.

    Food today from stores
    b - bacon & scrambled egg
    L - pulled pork wrap
    D - steak pie veg & gravy

I have cooked a whole broccoli & half a cauli & a bag of sprouts in the steamer. Had some for dinner & the rest will be frozen once it’s cooled.

  • Must be something in the air as I nearly started snoring at my desk and my head kept dropping.

    Hope you feel better tomorrow.

  • I forgot about the £5 off voucher for lidl which runs out 18th Feb. Am trying to decide whether to go there after work today & buy stuff for meals that will last to the end of the month, or go in the freezer.  I can batch cook some meals & freeze. Already bought chicken & mince from mr T.
I can buy a joint of pork & put in slow cooker for pork casserole/ pulled pork with wraps & get some beef, carrots and swede for a stew. We need some handwash for the bathroom & bleach. I think I could easily spend the £25 to save £5 & come in under budget for the last week of February.
