Would they be interested in buying yours, so you can move out 😁

Big name supermarkets have cotton, if you've one close by, or check 3bay to see how well priced they are, UK only due to the new import changes.

  • Went to aldi after work only to find they are closed in the middle of being refurbished until 14th! So I drove to the next nearest, morresons. Total spend £35.20 got loads of meat, tinned fish, veg, beans etc. Tomorrow I will make a stew in my slow cooker using half the beef & the day after I will make a beef & bean chilli. Definitely the weather for warming comfort food.

Thanks DIA I have now planned out the main meals from what I bought yesterday & the steak pie I just got rtc in the coop down from £4 to £1. I will cook it tonight and have 1/4 with veg and freeze the other individual portions.

    3 portions stew
1 bean chilli with jacket potato (today’s lunch)
2 bean & beef chilli with rice
Leftover gammon with leeks, cauli & sprouts & cheese sauce
    4 x steak pie & veg
2 x chicken & peppers in black bean sauce
    2 x chicken & salad wraps
2 x chicken & mushroom stir fried rice
    2 x chicken fajitas
1 x medallion steak stir fry
    1 x medallion steak & peppers / onions wrap
1 x chicken livers with sage & port sauce and spirali pasta

breakfasts will be porridge & fruit, or omelette with mushrooms or cheese and bacon or mashed sardines in tomato sauce on toast. Lunches will be soup and/or cheese & salad & crackers & tinned tuna or sardines on toast.

Snacks will be boiled eggs, cucumber carrots or celery with low fat cheese spread, low fat cheddar cheese & apple, banana.

I’ve just got my breakdown renewal which is with the flag of green and it has gone up from £68.32 to £85.12. I will try & get some cheaper quotes. Last year it was cheaper to go with the same company as a new customer online so I will check that again too.

    Yummy!
Breakdown cover is getting so expensive now, does your car insurance company offer it as an optional extra?

  • They do, but they wanted £90 last year for the same cover & company so it was cheaper to buy direct.

  • It’s very cold this morning & the garden is white & twinkling with frost ❄️ The weather is meant to warm up by the weekend to about 8 degrees which will be lovely for dog walking & almost tropical 😆

Today I will put the stew in the slow cooker before I start working from home at 9am. I need to post a birthday card. I’m glad I bought a few before lockdown as now the card shop is closed. I will post it on my dog walk as my one outing for exercise.

I will also start to load the car for the tip run on Saturday which can still go ahead during this lockdown.

    Morning Skinty!  :)

Yes, so frosty here at 4.30am, and still the same now, like we had a layer of snow. When I let the dog out, it was like opening a huge freezer door, she still won't go on her early morning walk and I am blummin' relieved!

Lovely meal plan, I like reading how organised you are, sounds tasty.

I am weighing up taking the dog on my supermarket trip, but, I don't think I could juggle it, and I would have to tie her up in the cold, not a good idea with her stiff joints.... I may confine her to home today as it is so cold.

At least you are still able to de-clutter!
