Only £1.99 in b&m and DS’s gf gave me a “home made” food hamper for xmas which included 2 more pots 🤗

Have lost track of the days, so it’s Saturday and I am back to working from home on Monday. I want to get some jobs done this weekend so I have made a list! DS has gone to work at 5am & his gf is back to work at 5pm so things are going back to “normal”.

Nice to see you are getting up to organising and doing things, and I am with you on the healthy eating. No more naughties in the place....

Tasks look good and your last net curtain worked out well.

Meals look great, well balanced and very tasty.

Last day of the holidays 😐 Today I plan to make a net curtain for the spare room. I bought the netting (summer 2019!) to use at the patio doors in the kitchen as a fly curtain but the dog didn’t like it and wouldn’t go under or round the edge so I cut it in half and made one net curtain for my room. The other half will replace the one in the spare room which is disintegrating after over 20 years. I like to get my money’s worth  😆 It will help the spare room to look bright & fresh.

I went in the loft yesterday to tidy & brought down a few things for the tip. I have booked a tip run for next Saturday. There was some condensation on the roof so we will have to wrap anything we put up there to protect from damp. If we are still here in the autumn without a buyer I will look into getting some air vents fitted in the roof & maybe put more insulation around the loft hatch. It doesn’t help that we have been up there a few times this winter, letting the warm air up there, but should dry out in spring/ summer.

DS & gf don’t seem to be in any rush to get an appointment with a financial advisor 😕 Have told them several times that I’m not putting the house on the market until they have sorted that they can get a mortgage. Am still ploughing ahead with decluttering & decorating plans. Most were on the list to be done anyway.

Meal plan for today using up last few things in stores. Will go to aldi for a shop on tuesday.
    B - porridge & mashed banana
L - home made veg soup
    D - leftover New Year’s Day dinner

Chuckling at the 20 year old nets Skinty! And I raise you - 21 years with ragged holes appearing after the last time they were washed! Really need to sort those..... :D

Think you need to gently prod the DS &GF, I am sending you a virtual prodding stick, I know it must be hard for them with long hours, but it will hopefully motivate them to see what's out there. I bet they will get excited then for their own little nest.

Happy decorating & decluttering & sewing!

Things were made to last back then, now it's price over quality.

If you want my broker details, let me know 😁 can you set them a time limit and give advance notice the 'keep' money is going up to whatever the local lodger costs are.

You've busted a gut to get where you are now and it's time DS and GF made a decision.

You could be describing mine there Ren! Mine came with the house when we moved in and have been washed over the years, but I would be too scared to wash them again as they would be totally shredded 😆

There is only so much “gentle prodding” I can do. The house they liked has sold. I’m not bothered whether we move now or later as long as it’s in the next 5 years. I will plod on for now at my own pace. At least I’ve got off to a great start.

I got the new net cut to size & 3/4 of the top sewed when I ran out of white cotton. Not sure where to get some more, I think I bought the last lot in £1 shop but I have no plans to visit that part of town. As we are now in tier 4 I will only be going to aldi for food shopping. The cheapest white cotton I can find online is £1.99 with free delivery so I may just order that.

I have fed the dog and will walk her at 7.30 before my breakfast, then start work at 9am. Will try and snooze for a while till 7.30 😴

    food plans for today
B - baked beans on whole grain toast
    L - chicken .& salad wrap
D - gammon, broccoli, cauliflower & leek cheesy bake
snacks - apple, banana, hot choc

I put on 2lb over Christmas so I will see if I can shift that this month by focusing on healthier eating.

Hey Skinty, sometimes the budget shops like Ald* have cotton sewing kits, so it may pay to look around? You might beat the £1.99 price....

I am not saying what weight I have put on, on the grounds of incriminating myself, lets just say I class 2lbs as 'getting off lightly!'  :D

Shame that DS & GF aren't highly motivated, at least you will be well on the way to having your place looking lovely & less cluttered/more organised.

I am with you on the healthier eating....
