  • Yes we have 5 how to guides to check for each case 🙁 Each several pages long & not easy to follow. Ho hum. Manager is aware but nothing can be done. Last year we were in the office together so it was easier to brainstorm & check things with one another.

Car passed it’s mot no problems & no advisories 😁 mot was £48 and service £193.44. Total £241.44. Paid from car savings account.

  • Oh, that's not much help then. Hopefully after doing it for a while, it will start to come back and get easier.

Congratulations on the MOT and having the budget sorted out 🤗

  • Previous service plan was £28pm x 12 = £336 so that’s a saving of about £95 😊

I have had an email from deliver oo asking me to complete a survey and they will give me a £10 amazon voucher. Will have a proper look at that tomorrow.

  • That's a good saving, covers the MOT cost and the leftovers stays in your budget for next time.
Free voucher is good, let's hope the survey is easy or suitable 🤗

  • Was too tired last night to look at the feedback request from deliver oo. Plan to do that today. DS & gf went out on late/night shifts. Managed to avoid a takeaway & cooked some chicken & peppers in black bean sauce with half a pack of microwave rice. Walked the dog, second time of the day, then ordered food shopping & fell asleep on the sofa!

I have ordered a grocery shop from amazon which should be delivered today 1-3pm. £31.11. DS & gf get paid on 16th so I should get the bills money & I have posted cheque from DF to the bank so my account will look quite healthy!

DF included money for DS & gf for xmas on the cheque so I must move that from my account before I am tempted to spend it 😆 Part of his order is on this month’s credit card so I will pay that in full & try not to spend the rest of the cheque before next month’s credit card bill is produced. I’d much rather just pay it all off now but have heard it’s not good to pay it before the bill.

I have been encouraging DF to buy things he wants/ needs to make his life easier (and while I have prime free delivery) so his cheque includes just under £400 for amazon spends. Since my lovely mum died he has taken on board all the cleaning, cooking, decorating, gardening, washing, allotment etc himself and I am really proud of him, but he has the money so I told him to spend it. He will be 79 after xmas so he deserves an easier life.

Once the food delivery arrives I will cancel the free trial of prime before I get charged.

  • Had a nice walk with the dog this morning. Had 2 chipolata sausages for breakfast in a bread bun, nom nom !
Instant curry noodles for lunch with peppers, courgettes & onion stir fry.
Dinner will be microwave chicken curry & rice, the really nice one from aldi with cardamon & cloves in the rice.
Have decluttered the 2 baskets under the stairs filled with scarves, hats & gloves. Removed some that were past their best & no longer worn & sorted some nice but unworn ones for the charity shop once lockdown is over.
Shopping arrived and was a bit miffed that carrots & swede were out of stock. I did get the cubed beef I ordered to make stew but have had to have a rethink on my food menu. Some items carried over from last week:

Breakfast = porridge or weetbics & banana, cheese on toast, egg on toast (poached or scrambled)

Lunch -= jacket potato with tuna mayo x 2, jacket potato with cheese & beans x 2, southern fried chicken fillet & salad wraps x 2, cajun chicken & salad wrap x 2, tin of carrot & parsnip soup with tiger bread. 1 x curry instant noodles.

    Dinner =
1 x cubed beef & onions in gravy with large yorkshire pud, mini garlic & herb roast potatoes & cabbage & peas
1 x cubed beef in gravy with jacket potato & cabbage
    3 x sausage casserole
1 x cubed beef in gravy add curry powder, with rice/chips
2 x home made tandoori chicken with (courgettes/peppers/onions) veg fried rice
    1 x Sausage & mash with onion gravy & cabbage/peas

  • Didn't think swede was that popular as there were always loads in the shops.
Meals look good, great for this weather 🤗

Well done sorting the baskets, it all makes space and allows other areas to be reorganised.

  • Very blustery here with heavy showers. Have been out with the dog. Bumped into a friend with her dog and had a socially distanced walk & chat with her.

Home again & dried the dog on old towels. Am glad I wore my waterproofs.

Beef is in the slow cooker on a bed of onions. I will have some for dinner later. Meals today,
cheese & Worcestershire sauce on toast, carrot & parsnip soup with crusty bread, beef in gravy in a large yorkshire pud with mini cubed roast potatoes (tossed in a little oil with some dried herbs & garlic granuals) & cabbage/ peas.

It’s a bit carb heavy but I’m not too worried. I put a new battery in my weighing scales and weighed myself this morning. Am totally surprised that I am only 10st 11 lb which is 1lb less than last weigh in on 4 Oct. I feel like I have put on weight so I checked 3 times 😆 but it said the same each time 🤗

  • You're obviously doing something right with your food / walks to lose a lb, congratulations!
Think we are in winter and should appreciate the dry days when they happen 🤗

Food sounds great, enjoy it 😁

  • After the heavy rain earlier the sun came out and so I spent an hour in the garden. Swept up all the leaves from next doors tree. Cut the lawn, which is mostly clover! Hopefully that will be the last time this year! Weeded the alleyway at the back of the garden wall & the section by the edge of the fence. Cut back a few shrubs & pruned my rose bush.

Had the tin of carrot & parsnip soup with leftover tiger bread for lunch. Sprinkled the bread with water & crisped it up again in the oven. Then the rain started again and has been on and off since.

    Resting and watching tv now.
