Well done on getting stocking fillers and chocs. OMG one more payment and your car is all paid for. Such a lovely feeling.

  • Yes just one more payment SW
It is :T and :( bittersweet as I originally borrowed the money off Dm & DF. It will still be a good feeling to have paid it all back though.

I have collected my new phone cost £25 but my old sim does not fit. I have phoned EE and they are upgrading my sim and plan for unlimited calls & texts & 2gb data (was unlimited texts, 600 minutes & 400mb data) for an extra 50p total £8. I hardly use data on my phone as I find it difficult to use with little feeling in my finger tips but I thought that was a good deal as I can now make more calls.

Popped into morresons after work for coffee whitener, their own brand was ok last time so I bought that again saving 65p. Also bought a few bits and pieces of food for the week total £6.
    = £42.98 / £150

I did some batch cooking over the weekend and made stew, chilli & mince with veg in gravy to have with mash/jacket potato/chips. Meals for the rest of the week

    chicken fajhitas
    stew & dumplings
    2 x chilli
    fish pie
Chinese pork stir fry & rice
    2 x mince & veg in gravy

It is great that you are paying your dad back. You have done so well. Well done on buying good food at great prices.

  • Feeling exhausted tonight & scratchy throat, hope I'm not coming down with something !

Popped to aldi after work for food for next week. Will just need milk. DS & gf are away for a week from Monday so I will need to be straight home after work for puppy dog. Spent £17.27

Took dog out when rain stopped, not cold but very windy. Then went to friends house for a few hours for cuppa & chat. Hot & spicy chicken wings are cooking in the oven for tea £1.99 so cheaper than a takeaway :D

  • Had a lovely dog walk yesterday morning it was so warm I had to take off my gloves & scarf and undo my coat !

One load of work clothes washed & line dried as the wind started to pick up. Felt a bit grotty in the afternoon so snoozed & watched TV. DS & his gf help me get Xmas decs down from the loft so we now have a silver & white tree up and it looks a bit more festive.

Had a naughty but nice Chinese for tea. £12.50 including delivery paid from entertainment fund.

The wind has been howling all night & I have been awake since 3.30am. Have fed the dog & now back in bed with a cup of tea. Will try to sleep a bit more then walk dog around 9am.

Hurrah for having put the tree up. Now we are the same. Yum to Chinese - the weather was v stormy last night I couldn't sleep at about 2am. I hope you have a good walk and can rest for the rest of the day.

  • Walked the dog this morning it was not as cold as it looked ! Shared one of the last apples on the trees on the common with the dog. Saw a little robin which followed us part of the way and a hawk was hovering must have seen his breakfast in the grass. The dog rolled in all the water, mud & splashed in the puddles :p

One load of towels dried outside in the wind. Dog towels then washed & partly dried outside, dashed out and brought them in when it rained & finished on airers in front of radiators tonight.

Wrote my Christmas cards this afternoon. They were bought in the sales in January 75% off. I will need 20 stamps & will get 2nd class from the post office to save money, rather than buying books I can get the exact amount I need over the counter.

All food from stores today & a NSD. DS & his gf fly early morning so am off to bed as I will probably wake when they go, hopefully I will get back to sleep before getting up for dog/work at 5am.

Your post sounds so British. It's lovely. I hope that DS and GF manage to enjoy themselves and the dear doggie and you had a good night. Good luck today and remember it is nearly Christmas. Hurrah.

  • Christmas prep continues ! Bought 20 second class stamps yesterday at post office £12.20 will pay from Xmas fund. Bought milk & odds and ends in coop £4.05. Also got petrol earlier in week £20 which should last till next Friday when I finish for Xmas break

    Spends so far this month

    Petrol £20 / £80
    Food £69.80 / £150
    Entertainment £48.32 / £80

I have a day off today. Work Xmas meal at lunch time so I have taken day off as I am dog sitting and will walk her later before going out for lunch. Already paid for food from entertainment fund 2 courses £10.95 and as I am driving will just need to buy a soft drink.

After lunch I am going Xmas shopping before coming home to walk dog again. Have just fed her and am back in bed with a cup of tea. It's nice not to have to go to work. I will try and get a bit more sleep
