Evening all
I'll add to my blog after I've finished on here, lol.
It was manic at work today, as it's Open Evening, which has taken most staff members by surprise, & they all decided they needed wall displays!
I had poached egg on toast for tea as I was the only one eating.
Hope thing improve for PP & JackieO.
Thanks for all the kind comments about my blog.
Hugs Hester

Evening all,
Busy day yesterday as I slept late, woke feeling rotten and had guests for lunch, arriving around one. OH was extremely co-operative and hoovered, washed spuds and veg etc....simple meal really, hm veg soup ( have made nicer, couldn't figure out what I did wrong which made things worse) roast pork with apple sauce and gravy, leeks carrots and celery and steamed potatoes, followed by apple sponge and ice cream, tea/coffee accompanied by weetabix cake, which went down extremely well. Spent afternoon on subject of family and history of...I have been asked (more like told) to find all the birth, marriage and death certificates I have, which means more searching and sorting.
When I came downstairs yesterday morning OH said to look at the door and outside were three huge bags containing about 50-60k of crab apples for jelly, left by cousin who hadn't time to visit...he came back later in day with another 25k, so have started the process of making jelly for Ireland!! In the course of conversation he said that I could have, if I liked, the slow cooker which someone had given him after his wife died three years ago, he used it once, but eats out most days or cooks chops or steak on other days so says he doesn't want it. Don't know what brand it is but will first of all have to find a home for it in the very cluttered kitchen.
So many people are having a bad time at present, I think that hugs all round are due...PenPin, JackieO, Tired Mum, DLB, Nicola 1982 and everyone else whom I have forgotten as I've read the posts. Hugs also to those who have been missing for a while.
My 29 yo DDIL had a mild stroke on Thursday night, she apparently has a blockage in her carotid artery ( am I right you medicos?) and has had a couple of blackouts before lasting a couple of seconds...this one left her with little use of left side for several hours, her leg is still not completely back to normal but she is going up the walls as she does not want to be in hospital and reckons that she is more likely to have another one if they don't let her home (because of stress). DS3 is naturally very worried, she doesn't seem to want to realise that if she doesn't look after herself she could die the next time...as soon as they let her home she will be back to work and doing everything she always does, there is no talking to her she just laughs at you....I am worried but want to half kill her as well, I can't handle people not looking after themselves!
Sorry for rant, had to get it off my chest.
Love to all

Hi everyone,
We were at the forum this morning, it was very well attended and the little talks were very informative there is a lot of technology coming on line which will help to keep people in their homes for longer and also alleviate the need for hospital visits, everything can be done with computer link ups over the internet. Lunch was excellent, some people makes pigs of themselves especially when its free, saw one chap with two bits of apple pie and a slice of cheesecake as well as a pile of sandwiches. Strangely, the asian food that was provided for our asian residents, was not eaten by them, they had our food, so I was able to indulge in onion bargees and samosas??????spelling..............
Some of the older ones were having trouble accepting that they could stay at home and still talk to the Doctor.....via a video link.
We gave Em her birthday present this afternoon, she was delighted with it, so pleased it went down ok. The rest of the afternoon I spent looking for a new cooker. During the course of conversation this morning I was told that if I felt that the cooker the council supplied was unsuitable we could buy our own and get a reduction in our rent, so I am looking for a 50cm double oven..have found a Belling that fits the bill, but need to see if I can better the price.
I am very tired, did not sleep again last night, I think I am going to have to go onto Seditol again for a while....... I made a mistake going to bed yesterday afternoon, I was very tempted this afternoon, but made myself stay up.
We got the official letter today re the attenedance allowance, I have written to the housing benefit people enclosing the letter and asking them to confirm that it will not count when they calcualte our HB and CT benefit.
We had some more of the roast lamb tonight, no spuds, just veg, followed by fresh pears and a tiny bit of ice cream for me.
Totted up my Tesco shop on the supermarket site, just over £50 so I should get the voucher for 5p off each litre of fuel. Tesco tomorrow.........have managed to get another weeks meals from the freezer, most of whats in the freezer is fruit and beans!!!! I guess we are going to have to eat some of it. The beans will soon be finished. We have cabbage, turnip and celariac coming on, plus the 2 rogue brussels that are growing in thecabbage bed. Hope they some to something a stalk of brussels lasts us ages. The everlasting calabrease seems to be all leaves and no cal if you know what I mean!!!
Time to go.....................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
