Afternoon all
been an odd sort of day
had a phone call just before lunch a friend of mine had put her granddaughter in the cot in her dd's room without noticing the handbag on the bed well young katie decided to rummage through her mum's handbag and found paracetamol so when my friend went to check on her she found chewed up tablets everywhere so I dived over and took them to A&E haven't heard anything yet although I have to say katie was her usual happy chatty self
ds2 has made flapjacks and gingerbread men and discovered the downside of using every pot and utensil going as he has just had to wash up
need to write some letters now
see you later
pam xxI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

Aril - fingers crossed for your friend x

Just popped back to continue the non OS Eastenders chat (and i dont even watch it very often!!!)
Pat is the mother of Simon Wicks, who had a baby, Stephen with Cindy. I think Ian thought it was his child for a few years, but does now know that it was Simons (who was his cousin) but did bring him up as his own for years, before Stephen decided to live with his dad somewhere abroad.
The Wicksy who is living with Pat now, is her nephew.
On Friday, when Ian saw the lad who has been doing all the things to him, he said 'i cant believe it' so we dont actually know who he is yet, but from what im hearing, people think its Stephen.
Hope that helps!!!!0 -
Morning all - sorry, good afternoon! Had a rotten night's sleep - like most of us here - so overslept and the day has rapidly been going down the pan ever since. Have managed to get to the gym - I'm determined to go on Mondays, Wenesdays and Fridays but, in three months, I don't think I've managed one week according to my plans! Weather rotten last night, in the night and first thing but the sun has been out for about an hour and it doesn't look to bad. My washing line has broken and I've just remembered my car is due to it's MOT tomorrow so, all in all, not the best Monday morning I've had.
Please, please, please, someone, tell me how to find Hardup Hester's blog - I know what she does is a bit saucy but it must be great reading about it!
JACKIEO - hope the chair helps and that the healing gets going soon.
PENP - hope you can sort out your horrible dental problem. When I was a dental nurse, we always advised people to try and avoid blowing their nose for the first couple of weeks with a problem affecting the sinus because it delays the healing.
AMIE - I'll send him over to collect the ironing then deliver it, all done. He may want a vodka but make sure he's done the ironing first!
Well, I'm feeling a bit washed out at the moment. I've not been sleeping too well - despite the lavender. I have all these things whirling around in my mind and they won't go away. I manage to doze off on the sofa as soon as I sit down in the evenings; obviously, that doesn't help me get to sleep at night. I think I'll have to start sitting on a dining chair to watch TV or knit - probably won't help - I'm quite famous here for being able to sleep standing up, at the dinner table or on a washing line - just not when I get into bed!
MY DGS has just been voted onto his school council which he looks upon as a great responsibility. It was also a confidence boost to him because the whole class voted. DGD started school at the beginning of term and absolutely loves it. No tears or anything. She's so enthusiastic. Really, she's been ready for school for ages so I'm glad the day finally arrived.
Oops - someone at the door. See you later.

Hi everyone
I try and get on here in the mornings but love to come back later in the day to read all your news.
Lots of HM gone on today-- more tiptoeing to the churchyard for the windfalls so 6 jars of chutney all bottled.
Crecy Pie for tea. A mixture of onions, carrots, herbs and a cornflake and cheese topping.
HM bread loaf cooked and risen !!!
I send lots of love to all who are having a rough time at the moment and hope things start to brighten for all and their friends and family. I do think this site helps though--- a problem halved and all that.
I have just spent a sad hour with dd1 and boyfriend troubles but at least she can come home and talk and shed the odd tear. How easy it was when they were all in pushchairs just shouting for more of anything on offer. It's so hard seeing your children hurting and they are both hurting at the moment.
I apologise for being a very sad person and I know I am easily pleased but I do get all excited when the chalkies are mentioned and I hope everyone else gets their names mentioned every now and again. Everyone is thinking about you all anyway.
Right enjoy Eastenders I never watch TV in the summer ( well thts a bit of an exaggeration ) but I drive everybody mad when I return as the evenings get darker and want to know " who are they " and " what happened to ___" Very irritatingTry and do a good deed every day.0 -

just had my friend on the phone, a man was in sorting out her gas fire ( sent by the council so it would be contracted out i suppose ) and after he had gone she noticed that £50 was taken, she telephoned the company who spoke to the man, he said he didnt do it and he didnt care if she called the police. she has telephoned the police who are going to send someone round, but she has no proof, she is so upset, i told her to report it to the council which she now has but no one has got back to her, the money was her sons birthday money for a bike.
