  • Morning. :hello:

JackieO......sorry the wounds playing up but enjoy your chair.

Aussie... When do we hear Confessions of an Aussie Islander? Rip roaring tales of ship hijackings and spying on the neighbours.:D Mind you they probably haven't developed a certificate to rate that have they? I bet 18 wouldn't even begin to cover it. :p

Mrs Chalky, Mr Chalky and the little Chalkies.... :hello: (don't get too excited now;)

Tru....that's our dream too, but houses and land are beyond our financial reach atm. Good luck.

DLB...sorry you had a disturbed night.

Get well soon....Pooky's DDs and Taplord. :D

Well I seriously need to do some work for OH today. Just a bit of paperwork but it's a pain.

Then I want to give the bedroom woodwork a second coat and give the girl's room another tidy.

OS wise, dinner is sorted (roast pork) and I have 2 loads ready to go on the line.

May tackle more ironing tonight if I'm not too knackered.(i couldn't sleep last night either.)

    Bye for now.

His Lordship is still snoring away upstairs ATM:rolleyes: :D
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Hi all :hello: , what a horrible morning it is here. I've had to cancel my usual Monday morning walk, that's only about the third time in the three years we've been going.

I've stripped our bed and have another load in the WM at the moment, unfortunately they will have to go in the drier  . Must remember to get out the pork mince for OH and I and the roast veggies for DD from the freezer for dinner, all to be served with pasta and tomato sauce.

I have three mixing bowls full of green tomatoes so I will have to go out later and get some more vinegar to make a truckload of chutney, heaven knows what I will do with all the jars, we only eat about one a year :rotfl:

Must go and have my shower now and then on to the cleaning as I have an unexpected 'morning off'. Want to try and get it out of the way so I have more time later on in the week to create yet more jars of 'stuff' to force on unwilling people as Christmas presents :o

Hugs to all those in need, JackieO, look after that arm and don't try to do too much with it (I know it's hard!), have fun with the chair, hugs to PP, hi to the Chalkies, good luck with the fishcakes, Aussie, hope they're approved,
sorry brain has given up so love and hugs to everyone.

  • Morning all,

Waiting in for the carpet fitter ATM as we have gutted ds2's room and redecorated etc. Last done when he was born in 99! Found a nice offcut in the carpet shop which was 20' by 13' -for £125. However as we only needed 11', the guy said he could sell the other 9' separately and did our bit for £80.:T It's dark green - ds2's favourite colour and, given a choice of colours for his room - he chose "warm cream" - very adventurous!!

Very wet and windy here. Hugs to Pooky - ds1 and have had the bug and it's horrible. Ds1 has ploughed off to school this morning with Beechams capsules in his pocket.

Am going to buy lightshades, bedding and curtains for ds2 later. Don't think I can get the bed back in the room myself, so will wait for dh and then put the rest of the stuff back tomorrow. Currently it's all piled in our room - I got out of bed this morning and stood on an action man:eek:

We had two lots of people for dinner this weekend so there are lots of leftovers. Ds2 has taken leftover pasta and prawns and a meringue for lunch - no doubt there will be comments. Ds1 can't believe that noone at big school makes any remarks about his lunches - they're all eating a lot of HM stuff as well - so thanks to everyone who told him and me it would improve at "big school"

Dinner is going to be a lasagne concocted out of leftover beef casserole and my lunch will be l/o courgette and tomato gratin - reheated. It was yummy.

JackieO - hope they can do something on Weds. Hugs to everyone else who needs one. Tru - good luck with the future plans - go for it!

Off to finish a sweater which was supposed to be a birthday pressie for a friend in July - better late than never.:D Have a good day everyone

    Morning all

JackieO - take it easy and good luck for wed
DLB - sorry that things are no better :(
... and anyone else I've missed - big hugs

DD is [STRIKE]feigning[/STRIKE] suffering from a bug this morning and so is spoiling my day off. couldn't get a dr's appointment for today for her so will take her on weds as she is concerned about some weird things that are happening to her body and she won't take my word for it that everything's normal:D This is my last little one so i feel quite sad about her growing up and I hope she can stay as lovely as she is now .... previous experience tells me otherwise though.

pouring down here as well so I guess the nasty gardening task day I had planned is off - shame. If dd is up to it later we will take the bikes to the supermarket and do a big shop and then I have a committee meeting for the after school club later on. Also on my list is the kitchen cupboards, recycling and fridge debris soup - I know how to live :D Will aso try to see dgs today - he and dd have been away for the weekend and if I don't see him for more than three days he breaks his heart when i go.

    have a great day

  • The fishcakes were lovely Mrs Flittersnoop although DD not home yet. She's rung though broken down. Waiting for RACQ breakdown service. I hope it's something simple. If not, I feel my wallet considerably lighter in the next few days.

JackieO Sorry to hear your wound's not healing quickly. I hope the specialist sorts it out quick smart so you can start treatment asap. The chair sounds ideal.

Haribo :p You do exergerate. My behaviour is completely normal. :D

TiredMum I can't wait to hear them.

To all those a bit under the weather hope you feel better soon. Off for a bit of surf and wait for news on DD. Byeeeeeeeeee

Forget to say the weather's been gorgeous here today. :)
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Good morning everyone,

The shuffs - Ian said 'It cant be' at the end of the last episode!!!!

JackieO - hope all goes well this week, and that you will be on the mend and able to continue with your treatment soon xx

dlb - Sorry you are having such bother, at least you know your dad knows you have been thinking about him, and i hope all will calm down for him at home soon.

Pookyand Taplady - hope the poorly ones are better soon xx

((HUGS)) to anyone who wants or needs one xxx

Nothing much OS going on at the moment, my mum was down at the weekend, helping me with the tiny bit of porch 'overhang' at my front door - its only a little bit of plywood really, but has a bit of felt that goes into the wall, and as thats getting old, there was a risk of water getting in, so now we have new felt, and some facia over it - the lad up the road who has been helping with my patio is going to finish it off for me later in the week.

I love my mum dearly, but i do get very stressed when she is here, we clash a lot and there is always extra mess around when anyone extra is here, which also gets me down. I always remember once, her saying how her mum never said that she made a lovely dinner, and i think my mum is doing exactly the same thing - i did a lovely roast dinner yesterday, but did i get a word of thanks - no. At least my children said thank you (but they have to, otherwise they cant leave the table, im big on manners!!!)

So, apart from trying to catch up with all my washing (the weather was dreadful yesterday, but blue skies at the moment) im just playing with the LO (baby asleep, i have 2 here this morning, and none this afternoon), well actually im on here having a cup of tea while he plays with the cars, but im going to join him now!

    Breakfast - Weetabix
    Lunch - HM veg soup
Dinner - I dont know!!! going to have a shifty in the freezer to see what i can conjour up!!!

    Have a lovely day everyone,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh - DDs dentist appointment went really well on Friday, he made her teeth look a lot better, and she didnt have to have the injection which was excellent. Not sure its going to last long tho, but maybe he will top it up when we go for our check ups in Feb!!

    Morning all,

got all my jobs done before i came on here, house cleaned top to bottom, no washing done though, it was wet and windy this morning, although sun is peeping out now, not much washing to do so will leave it till tomorrow.

Need to empty DW, make up dd lunch for tomorrow, bit of paperwork, online shop, and sort out dinner, have got chicken legs out of freezer, not sure what to do with them yet.

    Toast for brekie,
Cold pork sandwich for lunch.( use up bit left from yesterday)
Chicken legs(somehow ?) pots and veg for tea.

    Jackieo huge hugs x

Amie, I made the mars vodka too, all the dark chocolate sank to the bottom of mine as well, I give it a good shake every now and then to mix it all up, will probably do this just before I decant it into bottles, (tastes fab though, my spoon accidentaly slipped into it :D )
The cabbage can be blanched and then frozen.

dlb, hugs to you and your poor dad, x

Pooky, hope you and DD's feel better soon, take it easy.

Tired mum, how is down below? :D

Chalkeys Hello to you all xx

Heavenleigh, where are you, hope all is ok with you x

    Morning all!
Gosh, I'm sooo tired I can barely keep my eyes open. Rough night, what with the wind howling and the rain bucketing down. We had a window open, which I had to get up and shut. And the cats came in, very soggy moggies. Wnt back to sleep at about 8, and woke up at 10. Off out in a mo to have some more tummy tickling (Arasys).

Sorry to hear about your op site JackieO. <<Hugs>> to you, but gentle ones of course.

Amie my freezer book says: remove and discard outer leaves. Cut cabbage in to quarters, remove woody stem, sgred finely. Blanch in boiling water for 1q minute, drain, cool in iced water, pat dry. Pack in poly bagm freeze. Stores fir 12 mnths. cook from frozen ub boiling salterd water for 5 mins.

jcr16 I used to find wellies cold as a kid. When I grew up, I learned that lining them with straw or hay works wonders, and I've done that ever since.

<hugs> to you if you need one.

Not sure what we're going to do today. DH wanted to cut the Virginia Creeper down somewhatg, as it's spreading over the roof (which I don't mind) and is also interfering with the gutters etc (which I do). Can't do it if it's windy, as it's a loong way up on a ladder.

Dinner tonight is shepherds pie for DH, and mushroom soup for me, both from our home made ready meals.

Have to pop out and get veggies. I usually go to our local farm shop (where kept my horses when I had them). Was very shocked to hear on Saturday that their cattle had been tested positive for F&M. What a terrible and unfair thing to happen to such a lovely couple, and their small pure breed herd!

On that sad note I have to go to, will pop back later to catch up.

    hazel xx
