OS DAILY - MONDAY 24th SEPTEMBER 2007

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 24th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Everyone

Woke up at 3.15 am no real reason why. Watched some nighttime TV and thought I'd open up today. I did try turning over but DH was trying to compete with the Moto GP I think.

I don't know about where you are but it is absolutely throwing it down with rain here!

Plans for the day:

Get weighed and record for start of new trimmer me (No I won't be posting it  - done! OMG:eek:   :o )
Clear Ironing
Finish clean up of laptop for return to work
Sort out phone for same
Transfer old work mobile no. to PAYG until decision on what to do with it (Used it for that many years everyone knows it)
Tackle some of the paperwork mountain
Hoover through
Keep Food Diary - so far 1 cup of coffee
Start Money Diary - just to see where it goes

:grouphug: all round plus birthday/anniversary congratulations as appropriate

Mods can we not have the hugs on the front menu?

Take care

Morning. I had a horrible nights sleep. Too muggy to beigin with. Then the wind blew up and rain, ect... Not too good.

Day off today. I was going to paint the windows, but the rain will put and end to that. Probably sort out my wardrobe and get rid of everything that I have not used for the past 6 months. E-bay a load of stuff and generaly potter about.

    Cheers folks

  • Morning everyone,
dark, wet 'n'windy here in North Kent, a proper Monday morning. Not had a brilliant week last week, but hey I'm still here so that's got to be a result.:D
Am having problems with op.site and having District Nurse in every morning to dress it.
I have to see my surgeon on Wednesday so hopefully she can sort it out for me.
My DD took me to Gillingham on Saturday afternoon, and I have treated myself to one of those fancy reclining chairs for my sitting room. I nearly fell over when I found the price as the last time I bought a three-piece suite it cost me £280.00 but that was in 1970.My posh new chair cost the best part of almost double that ,but I will be able to sleep in it downstairs when I start my chemo ,and as my bathroom is on the ground floor and I will have to drink at least 3 litres of fluid everyday it will stop a lot of stair-climbing.
I was due to start it next week, but problems with the op.site means it may be held up for awhile .Oh well I guess they will start when ready.
I find it a bit difficult to type with my left hand at the moment so although I can read through the threads, its a bit tiring typing.
Saw my gorgeous grandson Danny on Basil Brush last week, he has been doing some extra's work on the show at the Maidstone Studios. It is not bad money and it fits in with his college work.
As I can't do a lot at the moment I have been doing lots of reading. My DD managed to get from the library a book called 'Womens Hour 'sixty years of broadcasting and its facinating to read how womens lives and attitudes have changed since 1946.Some of the comments by contributors back then were awesome, and mens attitudes to women seem almost archaic by todays standards.I can remember sheets being on ration, (one reason why they had to be turned 'sides to middle') and how hard it was for my Mum to manage with all the coupons and restrictions. Its well worth a read if only to make you realise how much easier it is now, even if you are hard-up.
I hope everyone has a good week , I have the remains of my DD's beef joint from yesterdays lunch that I brought home last night and I shall probably make some cottage pies for the freezer with it. Waste not want not ect.
<<hugs>> to all in need ,and a big :D to the rest of you .
    Have a good day

    Morning everyone.
Raining and windy here this morning, winter is finally here, so will have to get the kids waterproofs out soon, and have a feeling ds1 will want a lift rather than walking this morning to school, cant say i would blame him, its horrible.

Jobs to be done today, food shopping, make chicken curry for tea, general tidy up, and a spot of ebaying to be done.

Need to speak to my sister, i had 3 nasty texts from my mum overnight, im just glad i left my mobile downstairs so it didnt wake me up!
Think my dad has slept in his car!! Im so mad as he knows he could have come here, but it wouldnt have dared incase mum found out!!!! Im trying so hard to not let it get to me, as im flipping used to this now but its hard.

Anyway off to get the kids up, have a good day everyone (and thanks for all the PMs iv been getting, iwill get round to replying i promise (())

  • Morning all

Well, if Noah was still around, I think I would be able to hear the sound of boat building - yes, it really is that wet today :D Oh well, the dog still needs walking, so just having a cup of tea and working my way up to going out.

Just boiling some eggs which went out of date on Saturday, but they aren't floating so should be ok - if I'm not around tomorrow, you'll know they weren't :rotfl:

Work today, so will take a salad for lunch, and then put a chicken casserole in the slow cooker for tea.

JackieO, hope you feel better soon, I know you are a big reader, and I have lots of books, so if you want me to send you some just PM me.

Hope everyone has a good day x

I saw shredded cabbage once in a shop so you must be able to, possibly just shred and blanche:confused: . Maybe have to freeze on a tray before bagging so that it doesn't stick together? I am sure someone will have more idea than me;) .

    Morning all :hello:

Dishwasher's on, washer's on, I'll put the dryer on in a mo - it's too early to have 3 machines on at once :D

I only managed 4 hours sleep on saturday night, I was up by 3am  The rain kept waking me up last night

I'm going to be more OS than ever, me and mr tru have plans and we spent our holiday going over tiny details so our main plan is now very refined :D (In a nutshell - get the eff away from everyone, live mostly off the land, make sure there's enough room for loads of chickens, 2 pet pigs, 2 pet goats and lots of guinea pigs. Build my handmade cards empire and one of us has a part time job. The part time job may well be mr tru running his own biz from home). So, we need to save some more money :D

So today I'm going to write lists, lists and more lists, redo our budget and update my biz plan - I haven't looked at it for a while :o I suspect it'll be less of an update and more of a complete rewrite :rotfl:
