Anyone had anything decent offered under the bt.com/myoffer link in the price rise email? I can't get into mine at the minute (I have a BT Sport cancellation going through which doesn't close until next week), curious to see if they are offering anything decent or if I should just call.0

I've been offered Infinity 2 at £35.49 a month on an 18 month contract.
So, apart from, not wanting/needing Infinity 2, not wanting to pay more than now, and not wanting an 18 month contract, what's not to like!!!!!:-(
What planet are they on??
I think if they want to keep people they need to offer a price of around £25 to 30/month for fibre on a 12 month contract. They don't seem to understand that the type of customer who is likely to cancel because of the price rise is far more likely to shop around for a good deal and be more than happy to switch if the deal offered is no good. People will take up offers of cashback and move.0 -
For me the letter will just be a means to renogotiate next years contracts .
Contract and ALR ends July so i may just take the hit for a couple of months as i prefer contracts to remain in sync .Sorry dont want BT Sport as its all football will you do a deal on TV ??including BT Sport ?? Bluff and bluff again . Last year by quoting another ISPs prices i got BT TV + BB fibre 1 at less than the previous year for fibre 1 only .
Key is i know what i want BT Sport TV and BT are still the cheapest source .
Yes, me too and I'm going to do exactly the same thing. Contract due mid May, which they even mentioned in the letter. I was impressed by that, as they usually (as in never) don't.
My email also stated an increase of -
Broadband and Calls - £2.50
Line Rental - £0.00
BT TV - £0.00
And I only subscribe to Sky Sports in HD at a standalone £29.00 a month plus BT Sport HD free (which will continue). Plus the £5 BT TV account fee, of course. My BT Infinity Unlimited is currently £12.50, so with a £2.50 increase means its going up to £15.00. So its still by far the cheapest option for me. Won't stop me haggling at renewal, though.0 -
A note on equipment charges or not -
If one cancels within the first term (which is a year/12 months) of their BT contract, the deferred payment charge won't have to be paid for any equipment provided. And thats quite a concession.
So, upon price rise cancellation, BT are offering -
No charge for remainder of contract (standard)
Publicly offered ALR refunds (a first)
No charge for equipment no matter what the contract term (also a first)
Notification of renewal date (again a first).
Note - don't accept the link offer as the discounts offered are rubbish. Ring them up instead. You'll get significantly better.0 -
Can I just ask is the Smarthub really as big a deal as they make out? They seem to be using it as a sweetener, I said i'll stick with my Hub 4.0

Not really - at least in my case. The link offer's £31.49 for unlimited Infinity 1 and line rental (18 month contract) and the best offer I've had from them over the phone matches that exactly.
TalkTalk are offering a 24 months fixed price contract (highly unusual) for just £27pm with a rather lower £5pm add-on for anytime calls including mobiles.
I know BT and I know TalkTalk - there's little to choose between them. And a chunk of cashback for switching too.
No real reason not to move to TalkTalk, and I'm surprised BT aren't a little keener to retain their customers.0 -

i am currently 3 months into my contract and paid for the line rental up front.
im happy with the service im currently getting from BT but if i call up to haggle and they put me on a new contract, will i have to pay for line rental again and lose out on the up front cost of the line rental i paid for up front 3 months ago??0 -
TalkTalk are having major problems at the moment and are literally throwing money at people to sign up. So If price is your only consideration, go for it.
It's not just the price - it's the fact that the price is fixed for 24 months. Genuinely, comparing the service I've had from BT with the service I've had from TalkTalk there was little difference.
Both pretty solid in performance, and if anything TalkTalk easier to deal with on billing etc.0 -
