    Afternoon all :hello:

(((((Clootiesmum))))) sorry you're not feeling great, take care of yourself xx

Well found Bob! :j :j Never thought about plastic fivers getting less soggy but that's a nice bonus :D

Tiredy tired today. Stayed up too late last night amd got up early to travel to different city for meeting this morning, so only had about 4 hours sleep  and it turned out I was an hour early, so could have had an extra hour in bed! :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Anyway, today I have/will

    * used discount card on bus for 80p off
    * brought flaak of tea to drink on train :D
    * walked to and from meeting saving bus far (irrelevant really as I can claim back all travel expenses today but it's still free exercise I suppose)
    * bought biscuits in supermarket rather than station, 50p instead of over £2
    * took home made bread and soup for lunch, amd home made brownies (which I squashed :o :rotfl: )
    * cheekily made a flask of tea after meeting to drink on train home (it's been a long day... :o :rotfl: )
    * Mr Cheery is making tea - hopefully from meal plan... suspect he may not have gone shopping today but we've got enough to manage til tomorrow
    * banks/ynab later

That's it I think - desperately in need of an early night as I've had 2 nights with conpromised sleep now and starting to not fuction properly :o

20 more minutes on the train, trying not to fall asleep and end up 200 miles from home... :rotfl:
  • Evening everyone :coffee:
Bob - my dad hates the new fivers, he says they're really slippy and he keeps losing them from his pockets without noticing. I have told him to put them in a wallet, but he won't be told.
Hugs to Dawn and Clootiesmum - hope things are looking brighter soon.
Today I'm afraid I'm in a right old grump - mainly because I had such a rubbish night of sleep last night and so I'm suffering a bit today. I'm also onto my second cold since Christmas which isn't helping.
Nothing really out of the ordinary today. Bagged a nsd, and I must get lots more of these because finances are tight and there are still 15 days until payday. Banking is checked and PAD is done. Daily housework jobs also done. I had a full day of teaching (and I really couldn't be bothered with some of the bad attitude I got today) and I also marked a set of books before I came home this evening.
    That's about it really.
  • Not that you can tell someone's age from the interwebs but I thought you were about 40 :)

Make the most of it Katy Ann - you won't get these days back :)

I was going to say exactly the same! Things sound a lot better for you Katy-Ann and I am glad you are enjoying your baby x

Bob that fiver has to be a good omen surely.

What a day. Started with DS2 being upset because he had lost some school work and then he missed the bus. DS1 woke up in a foul mood and didnt want to go to work. Then I had to take Dad for a 25 mile trip for a hospital appointment and we had the usual hour and a bit wait to see the consultant. Took Dad home and had to sort out some paperwork for him. Thankfully I had got tea in the slow cooker because I was ready to sit down when I got home!

But I havent spent anything and Dad insisted on giving me £10 petrol for taking him. No paid stuff done at all today though.

FVD I am struggling to get back into a routine post-Christmas. And the urge to treat myself is quite strong here too.
  • Still trucking strong in work here, but def time usefully spent.

It's also going to be about 4 hours of overtime at £25 an hour. Oh yes please :)

Thank you, CLFand DMMS, inside I'm still seventeen, it's just the outside that's gone all a bit Coleen Nolan

I've not had any joy with scanning the books on a different order, it knows what I'm up to

I still cooked the peri peri chicken for the teens tonight but DH insisted on buying us a Chinese and it would have been rude to refuse ;) Our finances are separate though so it was still a no spend day for me :T

One of the companies that take dogs round to old people's homes to pet brought some into work today as a PR exercise so we got to pet dogs :):):) There is usually a bit of a kerfuffle when new mum's bring their babies in but nothing like the stampede to stroke the dogs! It reminded me of when I was a kid and we had to visit a neighbour's new baby and I stood there kicking my heels itching to get over the road because another neighbour's dog had just had pups :rotfl:

I've just checked DH's jobs email and the one he (I) applied for the other day has passed his application on to the branch so fingers crossed X < DSGF is also looking for something to fit around college.

I've just sold a book on eBay for around a tenner and it was one that WBB didn't want :T I need to sort out the postage tomorrow as we're out of printer ink still.

The flowers that I sent to the funeral on Friday didn't turn up, well they did, lnterflora delivered them but they weren't put into the hearse so didn't arrive at the funeral. The undertakers called this morning to apologise and said someone went back and got them after I asked where they were but they hadn't arrived by the time we left so the family didn't see them. I'm not sure there's anything I can do but said I thought the undertakers should make a donation to the elected charity to make up for messing up.

I'm so glad we're able to go to the funeral in the end, I only sent flowers because I thought we might not be able to if it snowed heavily. If we'd not gone I'd never have known that the flowers didn't arrive so it would have looked like we'd done nothing at all.

Nice find Bob and that's some hefty overtime rate CLF :T

    Hi all
Phew I've had a busy MS day.
HMRC came out to see DH about his benefits all went well which we fully expected, but we have a tendency to worry about nothing!!
    - Went to costa afterwards for a treat and I bought a cake with my loyalty points. £1.95
    - Then I went to M&S and bought a pair of trousers and have half price duvet set with a £50 voucher I got from Best Western points.
    - I went and had my hair cut a the local Health and Beauty college £6.50 saving me about £20 in my area.
    - Went over to Asda and got some reduced price mince meat which we will totally use - £4.89 reduced to £3.41, I used a wombled price guarantee voucher and got another £0.47 off.
    - Came home and sold an item on Facebook £10
    - Then sold an item on eBay £10 (after fees).
    - ate breakfast and lunch at home
    - so I's away with work for the next two nights and two and a half days so B/L/D on expenses. Then on Friday I'm at a training course so I'll get lunch.
    - Hope to be back online Thursday or Friday. In the meantime hope everyone is well, keep MSing!!! LPx

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

    Ziggy Glad to hear it.

Luckylady He hasn't been into deepest SE London recently has he ;)

    Small Things for me

    1. Added another 18p in roadkill to the £5 listed above.

    2. Used up a small bit of pastry that had been in the fridge since before Christmas, to make 4 mince pies whilst the oven was on. Jolly nice with our evening cuppa.

    3. Made a bacon stew for me and DHs dinner. Was really nice. I've got a pack of cooking bacon on the go and it's stretching very well.

    4. Answered two new enquiries.

    5. Walked a tonne. Went out flyering. Walked for nearly two hours between 10 and 12. Then spent 1 hour scrubbing the business after yesterday's use, and then walked for another 1.5 hours off and on. Legs a bit tired now.

    6. Took DD to the library. It was really nice. She enjoyed the story session the librarian was running.

    7. Took a flask out with me for for the day and a sandwich.

    8. Only took two buses this afternoon on the school run. As they were both taken within an hour it only counts as one journey. Spend for the day £1.50.

    9. Checked banking.

    10. Used roadkill to buy a 40p pack of digestives for after school snacks.

    Think that's it.

    Bob
