    Hi January Jubilants,

    We're going on a cheap "cruise" tomorrow...driving to the nearby ferry terminal and taking the ferry over to Rothesay.

    Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    *
    Ferry tickets are £6.20 each return which for one hour on the water is quite reasonable.

    * A bit of light photogra-faffing while we're there.

    Morning everyone :) Its totally freezing here this morning! I went out with DH last night for a few drinks, however LO was unsettled so by the time I got out I was only there for about 1.5 hours as I said I would be back by 11 to MIL. In that time I got 2 free drinks so I only paid for my taxi home - £7, winner! Today I think we will stay in as its so cold! Other things will include:

    - Check bank accounts
    - Surveys for a few extra pounds
    - Twitter competitions
    - B/L/D from home
    - Do online Mr A shop

    I may add to the list during the day! Have a lovely Saturday all x

    Morning all :coffee: :hello:
    Still tired today but definitely feeling a bit more like my old self after a very tough week. Thanks for all the well wishes, I almost feel really guilty because everything is fine with me and mine but it's been a very bad news week for a lot of my lovely work friends. One of those where you're grateful for everything that you've got... It's been quite emotionally draining to be honest.
    I don't feel like doing much this weekend to be honest, but the usual things are there. I've done a massive stack of dishes, hoovered through the house, changed the cat litter, put the rubbish out and the washing is ongoing. I have also planned meals for the weekend on a bit of a use up. We are pretty much completely skint now until payday, which is still 10 days away for me unfortunately so I will need to be creative foodwise for the week ahead. Good news is that the freezer and cupboards are pretty much full. I might need to be creative (ugh) but I will see what I can do.
    Today should be a nsd unless we need milk - I will try and get dh to get it. I have tutoring this afternoon so hoping to put that money into my savings but I'll hang onto it short term in case I need it during the week next week. How cruel of January to be such a long month this year when it's difficult every year anyway.
    Not very mse but the heating is on because it is so cold. As I don't plan on leaving the house today apart from work then I won't be spending elsewhere.

    Morning all,

    Looks like a lot happened over my "weekend"

    ziggy - that all sounds very scary and I am thinking of you
    maria and Yorkshirelass - hope you feel better soon
    ccl - it's so hard when people around you are struggling. It just shows what a kind friend you are that you care so much
    dawn - sorry to hear that the family stuff is ongoing. I hope things improve soon.
    clootiesmum - I often find that writing lists is a big help when my head is too full
    ally - sounds like you had a lovely time
    katy_ann - great news on the flat
    FatVonD - good news on your extension at work
    bob - sorry to hear you lost out on so much work.
    princess_pea - nice to "see" you and congrats on the pay rise :)
    DNMS and foxgloves - providing inspiration as always!
    cheerydaff - well avoided on the takeaway *high five*
    La E - hope you find some good yarn
    1LL - looks like you've been busy as usual. I'm always very envious of your lists!

    Sorry if I missed anyone off! And hello to all our readers!

    Had a productive weekend of sorting things out again. I finally posted some items that should have left months ago. The house is getting there. still a bit dizzy on and off but much improving. Foxgloves - funny you mention labyrithitus because my symptoms sound exactly like that from the NHS website. It's virus going round at work causing it because several others have mentioned dizzy spells.

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores. Unbroken home dinner run since at least 23rd December now. We deserve a medal! We will be having dinner out on Tuesday with a friend. This is the longest we've dined in for YEARS.
    • OH doing an overnight stay gig so a bit of extra money
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Leave work on time - done
    • Heating on sensibly tonight. Probably not off as it's freezing here.
    • Check ebay listings - done
    • Work on crochet commission
    • Wash out on rack to dry
    Have a good one all

    wow clf, that's an impressive dining in run! :j well done! :j

    Bbbrbrrrrrrrrrr! Certainly is cold here. Cycled down to the park, did parkrun with friend and then stayed for a quick cuppa afterwards. Sadly cafe was packed so we had to sit outside, and sat there for just a teensy bit too long and I ended up freeeeeeeezing. Set off on my planned bike ride but hands were SO painfully cold (even in thermal gloves) that I ended up cutting it short :eek:

    Home now, heating on, hot water bottle made, and am fully dressed (with thermal t shirt) and sitting in woolly dressing gown trying to defrost :rotfl:

    So, other than that.... today I will

    * make vat of soup to freeze for next week's lunches at work
    * make home made bread to freeze
    * make some kind of snack to freeze for lunches (chocolate biscuits again? Got plenty of out of date cocoa powder to use up :rotfl: )
    * pizza dough in bread machine for pizza tonight
    * hang washing on radiators
    * plastering in spare room
    * gloss on kitchen skirting board
    * paint kitchen ceiling (will be a right old faff :eek: )
    * banks/ynab later

    That's it I think :j Shouldn't need to spend anything other than the £1.50 I spent on tea this morning, although if I get my other decorating jobs done I may pop out for varnish, and depending how much tea I drink there's a slight chance we'll run out of milk... :eek: then I'll definitely pop out, but only for milk :eek:

    Have a good one all :)
  • Hi all

    Day at home today and I will work when I actually get going so no reason to spend anything.

    Have lent DS1 the money for his car insurance as it was going to cost £100 extra to pay by instalments. This requires a bit of juggling on my behalf though as we dont exactly have a spare £900 lying around!

    Heating is on, cold here and everyone at home so cant be helped. Have taken chicken out of freezer to make jambalaya for tea.

    Right, best earn some money!

    YorkshireLass Did you try Collingwo0d for your son's insurance? I can't remember now how much DS paid but I think it was around £600/700? He has to send proof he is still a learner every few months and once he passes he will need to change insurer but will get a refund for any unused part.

    We're off to the supermarket today for the weekly shop, I will do an inventory of the freezer first, I know the fridge is pretty bare. DS didn't go out last night so I still have DHs housekeeping money so I will try to bring it in under that.

    I still need to iron and photograph some clothes to go on eBay. I'm going to make this my last batch on there before I change my account to a business one and try to get some orders for doing order or services on there. I will need to order plenty of ink and buy some thin card so I'm all set up ready to go if necessary but I have already set up templates.

    The tax return needs doing this weekend. I hate doing it (doesn't everyone?) I'm pretty organised with knowing where I worked and for how much on any given week, it's just a case of locating payslips/P60s for those that tax at source.

    I need to give the bathroom a good clean, it's full of fish equipment and lotions and potions still even though the fish is now fertilising the garden.

    Have a lovely day everyone!
