Evening everyone
Even though I only work for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon, I always feel shattered afterwards. Still, it's done now, and I earned enough money to get a little top up shop at Mr T. Good YS haul including Finest cheesecake reduced from £3.50 to 48p. I know I shouldn't have but I did...Got some other YS stuff that was more useful, hummus, chicken etc. as well.
Fairly relaxing evening ahead. All is quiet at home because ds has gone out with his friend's family for a pub dinner. Happy days. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi,
Really tired after our ferry trip to the Isle of Bute. Then came home off and had to help elderly neighbour whose carbon monoxide alarm was going off.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Enjoyed free sunshine, though it was smurfing cold out.
* DW enjoyed bit of light photogra-faffing: she was happy with some snaps of a guillemot and a baby redshank.
* Took coffee with us but also went into the local bakery for a hot pie as we were very cold after our walk and browsing around local shops hadn't warmed us up.
* Went for two nice free walks.
* DW bought an inexpensive buddleia bush which was lovingly conveyed home in my rucksack.
*Repaired laptop which was having a crazy keyboard moment.

DNMS We sometimes go out for a roast dinner at a T0by carvery and they are very good value. I always end up bringing home the meat I couldn't eat wrapped in a napkin for the fox but I'm thinking from now on I might take a sandwich box instead because their mashed potato is to die for and if I were to have accidentally have lots of that left on my plate, ahem, as well as some of their plentiful vegetables it would make nice bubble and squeak to go with the leftover meat.
I did my supermarket shop and spent more than I had hoped but we had run out of lots of household products which bumped it up a bit plus I've planned for a full English for breakfast tomorrow. We've also got a mix of Chinese ready meals for dinner tonight (3 for £6 plus a couple of extras.)
I got 18 wombled clubcard pints added
Fell foul of the courgette shortage, who knew??! I tried 2 places and nothing doing. The local one had courgetti spaghetti but the date was quite short so I said no and I will just keep an eye out for it on the reduced section on 22nd :T I have just been looking up how to grow them and it seems fairly simple so I might try growing my own next year.
I picked up a nice wall-mounted shelf unit on the way back for free that someone was throwing out. It will either go in the teens room as is or be painted for the kitchen.
I too admire your decorating drive, Cheery Daff, I've not so much as lifted a paintbrush since moving in here a year ago. I did spend the summer sorting the back garden though, including knocking out an annoyingly rhomboid walled bed and building a decked area over the top of where it was using pallets, the strong ones without gaps that the paving slabs are delivered on to our local garden centre.
We *finally * were able to drop off the big parcel for WBB, our nearest drop off shop hadn't had a Hermes collection in days and advised against leaving it with them. I have a few more to do another smaller bundle this weekend.

Dnms, I hope the negotiations went well in the end!
Dawn, The festive use ups sound great
Cheery, your diy skills sound great
Clf, Great on the not eating out, until a few years ago we ate out at least once if not 2 or 3 times a weekend! Crazy money was spent and it wasn't even a "treat" anymore it was just what we didGlad we aren't like that now
Lottebear, hope you get the ebay bike sorted.
Bagpuss, the butter mint tea sound quite nice
Ally, sounds like a lovely day
CCL, some good ys things there
Really pleased that I didn't do any top up food shops in the week this week and want to try and make that the new normal.
So tonight we've
Used up spring rolls from the freezer,
used up the last of the cucumber, old carrots, sprouts
Hubby and I have had the steak, with peppercorn sauce from the use up box
Finished off the berry/apple & kiwi crumble with the ood natural yogurt.
All that's left in the fridge is milk, spread, todays ys carrots, ys mushroom & usual array for sauces. Given the fridge a good wipe out ready for the delivery in the morning.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
