Afternoon all,
Well its a strangely quiet Sunday for me, we usually have a house full but my parents/sis are away so its just been the four of us for a change
Sunday lunch already had, kitchen wiped down and the dishwasher is on
Todays list
* Kids to prepaid swimming lessons this morning, didn't take purse with me so no spending in the vending machine.
* Mr T delivery came, (was so easy to put away after cleaning out the fridge last night) There was a sample twin pack of toilet roll for free with it this morning (last week I got sample dishwasher tablets
)
* Sunday lunch was one of yesterdays ys spatchcock chickens with ys carrots, last of the sprouts & brocolli from last weeks shop with loads of mash & gravy (hubby made plenty of mash so that we can have another easy tea tomorrow from the leftovers
* Families lunches are done for tomorrow
* Checked my mileage and recorded on my spreadsheet
* All peelings & chicken bones in the slow cooker making stock for soup
Still to do
** Go to Mr'T's as their pharmacy will be open and as I was avoiding the shops last week I forgot to get ds2's prescription filled  Hubby will get fuel now rather then having to get up earlier in the morning. Don't "need" anything foodwise whilst we are there but I will look at the ys bit just in case there is something worthwhile. Done, only bought a pack of chewing gum for dh that I'd forgotten to put on my delivery and I was going to buy a ys dessert @ 98p but put it back and bought a tub of vanilla ice cream @ £1.50 instead as it will last far longer and can be used as a dessert when the kids have friends over for tea. Hubby did also buy an external drive that he'd had on his amaz0n wishlist for a while but it was available in Mr T on offer with £30 off the price so he bought that.
** Tonights tea is another use up, cocktail sausage rolls from the freezer with chopped up salad bits
** Film from stash, either Jonny English rebornor Mission impossible 2 (or maybe both!)
** Check fpl/luckyphone/numberplate
** Check tcb/quido for payouts
** Swag$;s I need to crack on with this as I'm not that far from a payout really (used to do really well from sb but really can't be a*sed tbh!Did a few little bits and then saw that the m&S gift card was available at a reduced cost of 680 points (was aiming for an amzon £5 which was 720 points) I had 687 points so claimed the Ms one
** Stick a load of washing on quick 30 degree wash
** Get washing on radiators before they go on tonight
** 4 Baths from one lot of hot water, leave hair to dry naturally and continue using up lotions and potions .still not finished off that bloomin' mousse!
** Light candles as a use up and for a bit of warmth later
Think that's about it for now, have a lovely Sunday afternoon all & happy birthday AllySticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Happy birthday Ally
CLF, did you actually have 'best offer' activated or are they just chancers? I always make a best offer if it's there even if I'd be happy to pay the full price, (seems silly not to if they have indicated they're happy to sell for less), but always accept any counter offer they come back with.
If they are chancers tell them to bog off, if they want it they'll pay for it.
Cheers FVD - I wasn't aware of the feature. I've double-checked and it's not switched on so def a chancer!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
For me it is not so much small things to be DFW but keeping up those small things now am DF. It has become habit to look at the cheapest brand I like of any given product. This week I have been updating my finances spreadsheet as recently opened a new account for the rewards. Am planning opening another one on a switch basis but didn't want the balance on the account in there so have moved it to a easy access savings account I have whilst I sort the transfer. I try to check my finances most days both actual and pending on credit card (paid in full each month and not additional spend - I just use it as a means of payment for the rewards)Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

Late check in from me. It's been DD birthday party, although her birthday was a few weeks ago. We'll have a slice of cake for you ally happy birthday. How annoying about p60/p45 dnms most organisations will only issue a p60 if you were employed at end of tax year so you maybe looking for something you never had. They should be able to provide you with a statement of earnings if nothing else, which should (in theory) be easy.
Today I have :
Got a bag of haricot beans on the stove that I soaked overnight. Will bag up when cooked and freeze
Used OOD creme fraiche mixed with yogurt for breakfast
Roast meat out of freezer for tea, plus some already cooked and frozen crackling
Crafting with supplies already in with smalls this afternoon. Need to see if I can find a wobbly eye as mr fox currently is a one eyed warrior :rotfl:
Mix of veggies from freezer for tea
Ys tea cake from freezer for 'treat'
Credit back to cc for something I returned, updated sheet
Pad to savings
Check fridge for anything that needs freezing
Double check meal plan for week, small shopping list for tomorrow
Right, be back later. PF.0 -
Afternoon all
Sunny but very cold here again today. Went for a decent walk with dog + DS's dog, which was a bit better behaved today.
Apart from that I have/ will:
Housework, OH helped
Made a huge pot of soup to use up a mahoosive pumpkin grown by DD2 - and abandoned here. She was fed up with them by the time she got to this one :rotfl: I was also able to use up an elderly lime in this, as it was a recipe with Thai flavours, lemongrass, chilli, coconut milk etcAnyway, there will be loads for lunches this week, and some to freeze too, no doubt!
Called in to Mr S for bread, milk etc
After ebay going quiet on me for a couple of days I have just sold 2 items in 5 minutes!
Just OH and I here for dinner tonight, so we will have the leftover beef stew + stilton pie I made yesterday
Pegged a load of washing on the line, but it didn't dry much todayIt will go on the airer later.
PS, Happy Birthday Ally :bdaycake:0 -

Happy Birthday to Ally & hello to all,
House of Peace again now that guests have departed. Have had my nephews here for a sleepover. Lots of fun & lots of fuss for cat who is a bit naughty this evening now that he's realised he's slumming it here with just us. Anyway, today's bits of money saving:
*Lots of home made soup left over as I knew I'd got 6 people to feed & thought as I was going to all the effort of making 2 kinds of soup from scratch I may as well make extra. So have frozen 2 portions of spicy vegetable & 5 portions of tomato.
*Lamb stew in slow cooker for tonight's dinner. I usually have to have the conversation with mr f about why he needs a massive caveman size portion (that would feed everybody in the cave....) but he's already said he wants to make sure there are leftovers so he can take some for his packed lunch this week. Result! Have put the potatoes back in the veg basket for another day as lots of french stick left over from lunch so we'll eat that up instead.
*Washer set on timer to do laundry overnight on Economy 7 tariff (half the price of the daytime tariff).
*Guest beds stripped for another overnight wash.
*Entered a competition.
*Ordered a new ironing board cover. Mine is worn through to a sort of sticky gunk layer in the middle. The one I wanted was £1 off in the sale. Only a £, but MY £.
*Decluttered 3 objects including one item of furniture off to my sister. This made space for a vintage chair to be brought into the lounge for a little bit of a new look (for free).
*Collected £25 of knitting money from some pre-Christmas sales.
*Managed to get that big sock order finished on Sat so that has gone off to be delivered by hand. I didn't quote p&p, so it would have felt awkward suddenly to tell my sock buyers they needed to pay it, but at the same time, socks are knitted on titchy needles & take a lot of work, so I didn't want to take the postage hit out of my profit.
*Wanted a rest from socks to be honest, but have today received another order - just a single pair - & as I have some fab yarn in stock in the right colours, I have accepted the commission. This will be the last pair I knit at current price. I can only get my preferred yarn online now. It has gone up by 60p a ball & I also need to factor in that online purchases mean I am having to pay postage so will need to pass that cost on in as reasonable a way as possible.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water. Have used lots of extra heating this weekend as nephews are not used to living in the ice palace that is our house, so over the next week, I intend recouping some of the cost by being careful.
*Gave nephews their birthday present bags early (not for opening yet!) to save on postage.......I think probably around £5 saved there.
*Synchronise diaries with mr f for the week ahead. I like to know what I'm doing, which days need packed lunches, packed breakfasts, etc, if there are days where the slow cooker would be useful, if there are tasks we need to do.
*Remind mr f (for the umpteenth time) to update his bank sign-on details so that I can access our loan account figures. One thing about me doing all the financial stuff is that he genuinely does not remember or even think about this type of task any more & I do sometimes feel I am nagging.
OK had better go & have a look at that stew. Smells lovely, think it's ready.
