    Morning all,
Its a very cold, icy start to the morning here but we have blue sky for me to look out onto whilst I have my :coffee: so can't complain :)

I've woken with a stinking headache this morning, so ditched the gym and going to stay warm, drink plenty (as I didn't yesterday for some reason which is maybe why I have the headache thinking about it!) and get on top of some desk jobs.

Cheery, we usually only have one shampoo etc on the go but hubby for a while was staying in hotels one or two nights a week and so we have rather a large stash of minitures that I'm working my way through :) Also I used to shower at the gym so I had a 2nd bag with toiletries/make up in etc. Various other bits are from former tenants etc but as it was things I didn't normally buy/use they've just been sat in the cupboards so I'm on a mission to make use of/use up everything I can :)

    Today's list
    * Kids still gone to school for free breakfast club :)
    * Showered but left hair to dry naturally :)
    * Washing on a quick 30 degree wash :)
    * For lunch I'm going to finish off the small portion of pasta & meatballs that my sis didn't eat last night :).
    * Check banking/update spreadsheets :)
    * Forward plan budget/spreadsheets to tax year end as I now have the right info from hubby. :)
    * 1 ds at a friends afterschool, the other has a friend coming over so will use up the 4 potato waffles/ nuggets from the freezer and I'll chop up some carrot & cucumber batons on the side. :)
    * Our dinner from stores, got out some rump steak (dh's fave), I need to prep the veg, get out the peppercorn sauce from the use up box and we're sorted. Dessert is leftover crumble from yesterday, it was lovely
    * Clean kitchen once food prep done :)
    * Hoover round everywhere :(
    * Radiator shuffle washing before they go on tonight :)
    * Iron what can't just be hung away. :)

    Right better get on.
Hugs to those who need it, lots of you seem to need them this week :(

Use ups - trying to get more space in cupboards and have in them only the things we actually want/need.
** Finished off a miniature shampoo this morning, completely empty after cutting it open :)
** Finished off a face scrub thing (again had cut it open the other day)
** Applied make up to use up & perfume :)
** Used some more of the can of hair mousse (bought 3+yrs ago when I was going on an 80's night out!) I swear this can is never ending, I've been thinking for the past two weeks that it would be finished on the next usage!
** Used a little of the hair spray on my fringe (again from the 80's night!)
** Sprayed room fragrance everywhere (from a former tenant, does smell nice but I won't be replacing it!)
** Horrible nuggets/waffles out of the freezer and used up

Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Happy Friday everyone!

I'm going to try to make today a no spend day, I have food at work for breakfast and lunch and a pack of YS chicken breasts in the freezer that I will cook in a pack of coconut and something or other sauce that has been languishing in the cupboard for too long. I tried another sauce in the same range (free table) and it was lovely so I'm expecting this to be good.

In all my moaning of the last few days I've forgotten to be thankful that I have managed to put aside 2 months mortgage payments to give myself a *little* peace of my mind when my contract ends. I did plan on 4 months but kept borrowing it back but have managed to put it out of my mind for the last three months.

    Have a lovely day all!

    Good Morning All

Another feeble list from me today as we're away for the weekend (to Whitby for a wedding) once DS home from school. I will be going to the wedding as the "mad aunt" :rotfl: every family has one, right? I'll be the one wearing flip flops :rotfl:

Packed lunch for DH - Done
    Check Bank - Done
Shower once DH home (as don't feel safe to go in when no-one here atm) -
Pack for weekend (must remember BIL's b'day cards and pressie so we can pass on when we all meet up) -
    Purge a few emails -
Check: Lucky Phone, Ashleigh, Numberplatelotto, FPL -
    Read -

Have a great day and weekend, catch up Sunday sometime.

  • Morning.

A pretty productive morning here. Thank goodness it's Friday.

    [STRIKE]-Wash load put in[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]- Prepare tonight's tea (buttermilk chicken)[/STRIKE] Chicken currently defrosting. Marinade made up. Just need to make coating which I'll do in a second.
    - Hang said wash load out to dry, blue skies here.
    - Attend doctors appointment and pick up new sick note.
    - Go to gym with friend and have a catch up.
    - Attend return to work meeting, make a plan of return to work. I'm itching to get back.
    - Phone HMRC and query something. I'm aware I owe around £200 from previous tax year. However on my new tax code they have deducted around £1400. Checked all my paperwork and can't see where this is from.
    - Note important dates on calendar and diary.
    - Have movie night with the boy.

So really it's just little things to do today. But they all add up!
    Chandelier.

    Hi January Jubilants,

    Well that was fun.

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    *
Half price hotel stay. In the old days I would make unlimited spends in hotels, none of that this time.

    * Was careful to bring home surplus tea, coffee, toiletries from the hotel.

    * Ate 2-for-1 at the carvery in the nearby town instead. Skipped dessert, too full. Didn't go to the bar, again, too full to appreciate it.

    * Consumed snacks bought using Nectar points.

    * Used inclusive hotel pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Spent hours in there...looked like a prune afterwards. Got our money's worth. :rotfl:

    * Charged all electricals using hotel electricity while there.

    * Downloaded a tv show to my Kindle to watch at home later.

    * Used hotel towels at the pool so no need to wash ours.

    Hi everyone

Ziggy – Hope things go ok for you at the wedding

I started work at 7.30 today – can leave just after 4 then and get the weekend show on the road :D

    Here’s me:
    - Got 2 numbers in the lotto so got my free ticket
    - Paid in 2 cheques for job#2
    - HM brekkie and lunch for work
    - Looking out trains for tonight rather than a taxi… maybe… If I feel safe and can get picked up at t’other end
    - Out for dinner with a pal tonight – won’t have much to drink to make it more DFW-esque :p
    - Turned down the thermostat as we’re away this weekend
    - Wrapping FIL’s bday pressie using my stash
    - Going to raid MIL’s yarn stash this weekend :j :T :j (she always offers – I’m not a wool thief :rotfl:)

Catch up on t’other side

Oh, I really hope so, it's the freedom to be the mad auntie that makes growing old worthwhile :D

Didn't need to check my booking, HR emailed and they have extended my contract by one week. 5 weeks more work to go *worried smilie*

I checked out the other night what tax/child credits we would be entitled to taking just DH's low salary as the only salary and we'd get just under £600 per month but only until August when DS will be 20. It's less than my outgoings each month which is a shame as I'm liking the idea of retiring :rotfl:
