Thanks for the approval of my previous post.

One last question before sending my first claim. I have ported my number and therefore have the first bill (with old number) and current bill (with new number) ready to send.

I'm assuming I put both original and ported numbers on the claim form, is this correct? and also, do i continue to put both numbers on all of the future claims?

    Thanks
    Craig

Good question! I never port and haven't come across that one before! Read the exact wording of the actual t&c; if it isn't clear I think I'd put the current number on the form AND staple a covering letter to it and the bills specifically stating what you have done. Copy and photograph it all stapled together so you can identify each page and send it (at least) recorded delivery (I know what Quentin will say! Lol!).

Having just read the relevant section of your t&c myself that WOULD be what I'd do. It says the first claim should show the bill with the number you were originally connected to (reasonably implying that has changed). Indeed, you couldn't SEND a current bill with the original number on it and the t&c also you must stay connected. Besides, the claim form ALSO has your transaction number, remember!

Not sure some of the dealers think so - though I HAVE been accused of working for THEM more than once in my time on here... obviously by people who aren't prepared to put their own time and effort in to actually read the information and guidance on here before, during or after they ignore the bascis and get into trouble. Another satisfied member at least!
  • After reading through numerous posts and thanks to Mobilejunkie, I now have pretty good idea of when and how to send my claims. Only issue is with the sending address, the one in my enclosed forms (came with the phone) is Loughborough, LE11 9EL, that is what I will need to use. But the problem is, the guy at the Post office told me that the postcode is not recognised :rotfl:wow.
Have anyone claimed their cashback successfully using this address?

That will be a special postcode, possibly for a po box, and not a geographic code. (Their geographic post code is LE11 5XH)

But you should use the one they told you to - it will be a breach of the ts + cs to use the wrong one.
  • Yeah, that is what confuses me the most as, I got an automatic email after placing the order telling me to send claims to PO BOX 337, Crewe, CW2 8WE.
But the address on the forms came with the phone is the Loughborough one. Reading numerous posts on here, it's recommended to post to the 'original' address. So what's the original address in my case, the one on the claim form enclosed with the phone or the one in the automatic email ?

Under your t&c you don't have to send the original bill. You can therefore send the claim to Loughborough and re-send to Crewe if that doesn't track on Royal Mail. To be even safer you could send the original bill to the first and if necessary a copy of it to the second.

Having said that beware; the t&c are both different (again) and entirely misleading. Knowing WHEN to send the claims is entirely unclear. Fortunately, there are ways round this if you are unsure. A new problem is the totally contradictory information regarding how old the bill can be/how long you have to claim. It seems no-one's picked this up yet (I'm not surprised since it's neessary to be VERY thorough when ordering etc.). No doubt all the usual questions will start appearing in 5 months' time (or longer) when the first claims are approaching. They seem to be attempting to play lip-service to the code of conduct they've ignored up until now. Their way of so doing is to mislead and confuse the hell out of people as usual. You have been warned - again!
  • Thanks for the advice MJ.

Like you said, I did also notice that big different in the T&C. In my case, probably apply to all deals taken around Apr, one t&c sent via email saying:
"You have 30 days to submit your claim. (This bill must be no older than 28 days when we receive it)" Which is quite familiar

While the other (more interesting) shown on their website saying:
"You have 60 days to submit your claim. This bill must be no older than 60 days when we receive it" i.e. if you purchased on the 1st of April 2008, you need to send in a bill that is dated within September 2008, your claim window is 60 days from the date of that bill.

How did they calculate 6 months in the example??? Apr-Sept is only five... Doesn't matter. The important thing is according to this T&C I have 60 days claim windows and they accept the 60 days old bills.

Sure there is way around this but to be on the safe side, I will probably mail them and try to get them confirm the exact months in writing, which would be very useful should they reject my claims in 6 months time.

IF they answer and give a clear reply post it on here. However, even then other people shouldn't rely on anything they say unless they get it in writing for themselves.
