I’m sorry to hear about the elderly lurcher. I hope things pick up soon for him.
is it possible to put a chain and padlocks on the gates, Lou? I’m worried that with the rise in prices your ex will steal your heating oil.4 -
Thank you SH, Janb5 and Kittykattykate.
Kittykattykate - I don’t think the ex would take the heating oil as his house doesn’t use it, but a very good point for general security. There was a spate of thefts a few years ago and with such high prices now, it’s a risk. I have a couple of number combination padlocks left over from a Maths lesson, so will use one of those.
Janb5 - your question made me think! Yes I do have a friend whose husband is more technology conscious than me and who could help me with putting a camera up🙂.
Today I’m very thankful for the gentle kindness of a medical professional who helped a DC today, being able to get medicine to help them feel better and being able to get a treat or two for DD’s birthday🙂🎂🙂.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Thank you SH.
Its been a very busy week. On Friday I ended up working 8-6 at Job 3 before racing to Job 2 to work 6.30 until 9. Thankfully that doesn’t happen very often but am feeling rather shattered, but frustratingly can’t seem to get back to sleep, after the elderly lurcher woke me at 3!
Next week is half term, so should get some days off but still at work with the other jobs so not a whole week.
I’m thankful for dry days after the midweek storms and for the chance to catch up with old friends this week.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

You arre adjusting so well to all the new things going on in your life. You should be so proud. Sounds like your children still at home are adjusting well too.I think amazon have made ring doorbells very cheap recently from what I have heard. It's the monthly fee that gives me pause. Definitely worth looking into though.I think your life will fall more and more into place now that you know what you have to contend with. You do so well. Please be proud of yourself and your strength and resilience. You are fantastic xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Thank you Janb5, SH and Kitten868.
Well this week hasn’t quite turned out as I’d planned! On Saturday one of the younger DCs did a lateral flow test which turned out to be positive😳. The weekend turned into getting to PCR appointments. The rest of us have, thankfully tested negative but we are making sure that all windows are open and we are doing daily lateral flows as well. It’s meant that I haven’t been rushing around anywhere, which I think has been good for all of us. The DC has been in their room and seems to be enjoying room service. Thankfully the only symptom thus far has been a headache on the first day but has been feeling fine since.
Grocery shopping has been a bit tricky but have got a MR T order coming tomorrow.
Today I’ve got the grass cut, hopefully the last cut of the growing season, especially if the clocks change at the weekend and we have lower light levels. Lots of leaves have been swept up and bagged up to await removal to the allotment to make leaf mould. I had a good look around the garden and can see a couple of changes that can be made in terms of moving plants and tidying up. There is still lots of the ex’s stuff around which makes getting the garden tidy and as I’d like it a little difficult but I’m determined to make it a colourful enjoyable place to be. I have been a little spendy and ordered some tulip bulbs to brighten up the garden next Spring. Wages from Job 2 have covered this.
Being at home has also given me chance to get a job done that has been hanging over me. It was only a phone call but one of those that was making me wobble. All done now.
It’s been lovely to get the wood burning stove lit and to be warm and cosy. So much to be thankful for.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

I hope the DC remains well and no one else gets it! I'm glad you have the dreaded phone call out of the way, it must be a weight off your shoulders.
And the tulips will be lovely.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Oh fingers crossed that the rest of you remain negative. It's weird how it works - but dd and I are still negative and ds is on day10 today... I'm hoping that we've escaped it all. I hope your dc is through the worst of it and continues to improve. You're right - it is quite nice to slow down for a bit even if it's forced. Not giving up
