Hi HSL- Vitamin C doesn`t really get rid of colds as an excess of it is is lost in wee!  No harm tho` in being nice to yourself to help as I bet doing 3 x jobs saps your energy levels massively!
  • Thank you Janb5...can’t believe how little I have done compared to usual weeks! It has been good to rest, especially not getting up at 5.30!

I`m hugely prejudiced against vitamin pills in general as I think they aren`t really needed in a good diet ( like yours!)
I`m sure someone will be along in a minute to disagree with me!

Now is a really good time to change as the rates are low. Hopefully they will stay that way when you’re  in a position to look. Mines is a fixed  for 5 years, that was 3 years ago the rate now it’s lower than I when I fixed.
Glad all the others in your home have stayed covid free.

I think you've probably needed some rest tbh, so glad you got it.

The tale of the attic and the sink has reminded me of my favourite episode from the sitcom Malcolm In The Middle. It has a storyline where they decide to clear out a huge cupboard which has just been filled with 'stuff' over the years adding to what the previous owner left behind.  They find various things including huge tyres and finally at the end see a toilet. They can't believe someone has left it there, then one thinks to pull the chain and it still works. Their 'cupboard' was actually an additional bathroom -lol. The parents decide to keep their discovery from the kids. I have visions of you discovering different rooms in your attic once cleared that you can re-purpose hahaha.

I did some tempting work recently for a charity and several staff members inc the CEO and a Dr who chaired a meeting I took notes in,  all said the same thing colds/flu are going to be more prevalent this year because we've had 18 months of keeping away from people. The Dr said that anyone eligible for a flu jab needs to get it for this reason. My Dad's cold (diagnosed over the phone  as it'll be covid get a PCR - it wasn't!)  is actually a chest infection that he's been told is fortunate hasn't turned to pneumonia (which he's had before)

Ouch to the lawyer's bill but it's needed. Eventually this will all be over. I am expecting that at some point ex will be told by them  to collect his remaining belongings from your house within so long or they will be disposed of

    Love the tempting work Spendless!
  • Thank you Janb5, Parkyp & Spendless,

The sitcom description made me smile Spendless! I could quite imagine that happening here!  I have raised concerns that the amount of stuff here could stay here indefinitely if the ex simply ignores the request to remove the junk, so if not removed within a timeframe, the items can be disposed of. Not sure of the timeframe yet.

Interesting about the side effect of lockdowns and not mixing is an increase in colds/flu.

Parkyp - it would be a good idea to fix now...hope the rates are still low ish when I remortgage.

This morning, I’ve made the monthly payment to Help to Save  so the new balance is £600. It's slowly creeping up! I’ve also made a £70 overpayment to the mortgage, only a little but hopefully that’s half a brick more that’s owned rather than the bank! Direct debits are due out on Monday which will bring debt levels lower.

The sun is shining this morning after days of rain, which I’m thankful for🙂🌤🙂.

    Have a good Saturday everyone.
