That was my thought3

I had to rescue DD from Turkey once. She went there for a 2 weeks holiday and ended up staying 3 months. The season had finished and it cost me the best part of £500 to get her back home via various flights, buses and taxis. Needless to say there was a Turkish waiter involved 😬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Thank you Cherryfudge, Janb5, Spendless, Suffolksue, SA, SH & Buffy.
SH - the colouring is beautiful, reminds me of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
Spendless & Suffolksue - I texted and phoned the ex to discuss my concerns but all went unanswered, so in desperation I had to knock on his door and ask to speak to him. He didn’t appear to have the same level of concern despite not being able to tell me a specific address where DS was staying or even a vague area of location. I can’t understand why the most basic details hadn’t been sought before he went.
He has returned to the ex’s.
Its a bit up and down at job 2 at the moment. This month is always a quiet month before it picks up again in December. Unfortunately it’s so quiet we only really need one person per shift in the section I work in. Equally unfortunate is the fact the management hired an extra member of staff at this quieter point 🙄😒. I went in one evening to find it was so quiet, I could go home. I had been completely cut out of the rota on the following day, so I plucked up courage to speak with my boss . There is another area within Job 2 that is short staffed. Since I have past experience in both areas, I asked if I could move, which then allowed me to work a shift🙂.
Signedthe legal papers so hopefullly some action soon.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Great you could change to another work area.
Even better news on the legal papers. Hopefully you are nearly there.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

My son once missed his flight home ( well I say missed he met people and stayed out drinking instead of going to bed for flight early morning) I was going despair when I heard he wasn’t with his other friends in arrivals. He had also lost his fone 🤦🏽♀️. He finally got in contact I sent £200 for Saturday night flight. He then contacted me again and said since I’ve got the money I’m just going to stay till Monday cause the flight is only £50 then and I’ll use the money for food and drink. I was going off my head Totally stressed and worried sick, but we have a good laugh about it now 🤣🤣.Really pleased you’ve got the papers signed.Hopefully you can pick up extra shifts if your own section is quiet.Have a nice weekend.4

Well done for having the courage to knock on Ex's door. Hopefully one day your DS will appreciate all you have done for him.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

At least you sorted it. Your DS might not be able to recognise what you've done for him at this point but in time he will appreciate it.
Good news both about the shift with job2 and the legal papers. Another step there.5 -
Thank you SH, Parkyp, & Spendless.
Have to confess that I have just slumped tonight and not really got on with anything ! It’s been a full on week work wise. I am thankful for a couple of shifts in the different section but it has meant slightly longer ( and therefore later) shifts. It looks to be busy again next week, so I really end to make the most of this weekend to get as much done as possible.
DD1 came home for a flying visit which was lovely to see her 🙂.
This week I’ve been able to sort out the phone contracts. DD2 has decided to set up her own phone contract which means I’ll be free from paying it. I was able to get a couple of the other DC’s contracts upgraded so that for the same amount of money spent, they will have more minutes and data each month.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 .
