Bit of a weather amnesty today (very cold but still, no sign of the white stuff yet). Went to the library and topped up to my maximum of 15 books (still downstairs as I was too tired to carry the bag upstairs. I have brought the black (rubbish) and brown (plastic bottles, tins, cans) bins right up to the back door so I am prepared.
Some housework bits done (rubbish out, clean pots away, more washed up. washing loads in and out of the machine). Easy tea (throw it all in the oven) tonight as I still want to go to the free film showing. I really hope they replaced the ancient boiler and sorted out the heating in the church, the stone leaches heat away (pleasantly cool in summer, cold to unbearable in the depths of winter).
A NSD (may be asked for some sort of donation tonight but will count that as charity). Tucking a £20 (budgeted) into my purse in case someone is collecting film club fees (local trades council is sponsoring the film, film club is running it - increased membership fee to cover new license costs allows them to do extra events like this one - and the parish church is hosting it. Hope they get a reasonable turn out. We would be warmer and it can be off putting if there are only a few in there.
Today I am grateful for libraries, bins and bin men and my bed (when it got cold I pulled the covers up to my ears). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Oh, I've had a spectacular fail this evening. A combination of a poor night's sleep, a hard day at work, the snow outside and being a bit cold and miserable led me to spending £30 on a well known takeaway pizza company meal for dinner. There is easily enough food for another meal tomorrow, but I must try harder. I'm a bit ashamed
and can't believe I used to get takeaway every single week...
Back on it tomorrow.
Today I am grateful for:
getting to work safely in the ice and snow
dh getting some of his holidays approved so we can go away in April
not having to get up early in the morning. :jNot giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Fmess Well done on your weight loss win this week, must make it all feel worthwhile.
Apple I'm cycling for work still when I don't have DD with me. It's not too bad on the main roads. But I don't go out super early. I'm glad your Mum's MRI went well for her too." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Yesterday was a SFD and 12 hours at school. Today was a spendy day as I bought drinks for friends and I at a coffee shop, last time my friend paid so hopefully this means I won't have to pay for three more visits, if we're doing rounds.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Today I am grateful for dd having a great bday, for dh getting a few more extra hours, for doing both a workout (zcut crdio #9) and a mini 15 min run (in the ice/snow/wind - loved it!), for time with dd at school, for my warm pyjama trousers.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Congratulations to your DH on his new job greent:T
Trouble free journey up to Scotland yesterday thank goodness. The most snow I saw was the 2.5 inches on my car in the morning!
I went and did the weekly shop at aldee on the way home and got everything I needed (except mange tout and quinoa) for just under £40I am giving their hairspray a whirl as it is much cheaper than my usual brand.
We had planned to go out for lunch on Sunday for DSDs birthday but DS has a match which may or may not be cancelled if the ground is frozen and the pub we like to go to has introduced a not very customer friendly rule about the times you can book so DM has offered to make Sunday lunch instead and I will provide desert.
Tomorrow DS has karate, the house needs mucking out, I have next week's food prep to do and a hair appointment!
Today (yesterday) I am grateful for:
1) Mum offering to cook Sunday lunch instead of going out which helps our tight budget this month
2) The hardworking people who work to keep the roads clear (excluding the fella in the highway agency truck that went past me doing 100+ yesterday afternoon:eek:)
3) Cuddles with my dog :heart2:
4) DH sticking to dry January even though he was very tempted and even had a can of beer in his hand at one point
Today will not be a NSD as I need a couple of bits to complete my meal prepping for the week. I am trying to think of a desert I could make here with what I have in than buy one. I will send DH to get the shopping when DS is at karate and I am at home cleaning and doing the other food prep.
Sunday should be a NSDI must check my spending as I have reported 5 and think it is actually 7.

Hey all,
Apologies for not checking in yesterday - got home late from work night out and crashed. On the plus - pleased I got out when I just wanted to go to sleep - I ended up having a nice time. Was budgeted for (as a reward for doing something social!) so hasn't broken into my weekly expenses. That said - I did spend some money online yesterday on a game so was still a spend day.
Yesterday I was grateful for:
I) My job. I had a morning where I wanted to curl up and do nothing. Having my job forced me out of bed and I felt better as the day went on.
ii) People at work - for all our ups and downs we had a lovely evening - I was glad of their company.
iii) For people believing in me, when I sometimes don't.
Today I am grateful for:
I) This forum. Life is very up and down for me emotionally at the moment. Having this to come to is like my rock. I can check in and I feel connected... so thank you all.
ii) Money. Sounds crazy - but organising my finances soothes my mind and brings a sense of order to my day.
iii) The sunshine - though I haven't been out yet it's brightening up my day and my mood. Am going to get in a gym and/or nature walk in today - do something positive.
I'll check in later tonight with an update of today⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Havent checked in for what feels like ages and I need to check how many NSD's I am on but I think it is 6.
Been really busy at work its one of our busiest months of the year and most nights I've come home, cooked dinner and gone bed straight after eating.
Food budget is stretching amazingly well this month everyone's diets has left a glut of comfort food in the supermarket and every time I have nipped in, I have picked up so many YS items to fill the freezer for pennies, so we are still eating like kings here.
especially proud of not buying lunch out at all this year so far. still have a stash of meat pasties in the freezer for 10-25 p each and several posh soup for 9p.
Today I am grateful for
1)a warm home
2)2 supportive neighbours & a great long-distance friend who never fails to make me smile!
3)a wonderful family:pDesperately Determined to Destroy the Debts one at a time.. and Seriously Save for the Spectacular future.:p0
