Well done Fmess for getting slimmer of the week :)

A spendy day again yesterday - got my hair cut (got about 8 inches cut off so quite a different look for me!), bought an adapter plug for my toothbrush and some cleaning supplies.

Yesterday I was grateful for my lovely hairdresser, catching up with a friend (I went for a coffee in her new flat so free activity :D) and our cosy flat, it was so cold and windy yesterday.

Today should be a NSD, tea for tonight has already been prepped and I don't need any other ingredients for it.
    Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500  1.8.25 - £106,362.86
    Mortgage overpayment savings - £3.33/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £675.98
  • Good morning all,

A Low Spend Day for me yesterday, £3.50 for my football.

Today is on track to be a NSD although I am absolutely starving so might need to grab something before lunch.

Calling - well done on the debt busting :)

Fmess - congrats on being SotW!

Spent on payg Zumba today and also took OH along, so a total of £6 :)

Weather here is just cold and rainy - sleet is expected, rather than snow.

    Today I am grateful for:
    * a repaired washing machine! :D:D
    * heating - weather means house is chilly in the day, unusually (and I'm wearing fluffy socks, fluffy slippers and 3 layers on top) (Also handy for drying some of my washing backlog!)
    * Having bought milk yesterday so no need to go out other than school run

Long and busy day supporting a colleague yesterday with a piece of work so didn't post.

My food budget is way over again and I need to seriously get this under control. I know DH and I are eating super healthy but we need to do it much cheaper than we are doing. I thought cutting out booze would have saved us a fortune but the total is as bad as ever :o:(

Tomorrow I need some fresh stuff and a few bits for the meal plan and have cancelled my Mr T delivery and will go to Aldee on the way back from Glasgow. That is if I don't get stuck in any snow!

    Grateful list for yesterday:

    1) Sleeping in my own bed
    2) DFIL picking DS up from school as we wouldn't have got to afterschool club in time
    3) Something in to make a quick and easy on plan dinner
    4) An extra £40 compensation from a 5 year old PPI claim!

    Today I am grateful for:

    1) A meeting I was not in the right head space for been cancelled (even if I had driven for an hour and a half to get there)
    2) Colleague's thanks for the support given with the piece of work
    3) My Mum and Step Dad who are both happy and healthy
    4) Extra bits of money this month from TCB, interest and the PPI easing the food overspend and ensuring we don't add to the debt even if we wont be adding to savings this month after all:(

    Evening!

    Today I am grateful for:
    I) My warm fluffy lined coat! It was c-c-c-c-cold today!
ii) Feeling like I made a difference - job satisfaction.
iii) A roof over my head and warmth to come home to.

    Today = NSD number 8

Started the day feeling low and out of sorts - again, without really knowing why. The day got better and ended up being pretty productive. January feels like it is flying by though.

Big social engagement due this week so psyching myself up for that one. Roll on weekend!

Which side are you? Took me 2.5 hrs to get from Milngavie to Ayr this morning!

What are you finding expensive about eating super healthy particularly? I've managed to shave quite a lot off my budget and doing high protein/low carb and fat.

Spent money today, taxi fare to my counselling appointment, followed by local history - both very relaxed as things were a bit chaotic there (queue of people waiting to see the health service workers and they were very late). My counsellor is also the manager so she was chasing them up and then gave them a telling off when they arrived. My local history partner usually acts as meeter and greeter but he was delayed (burst abcess). Bus hopped back home.

Winding down for the weekend now. I want to go to the free showing of 'I Daniel Blake' tomorrow evening so planning to rest tomorrow afternoon. If the snow comes I will definitely be hibernating (my food is squirrelled away). Have been through the receipt and seperated out my food so still just within budget and have some supplies (fish, cheeses spread) whch will be used through February. There will be some money in my birthday card, if I need anything.

Today I am grateful for a pleasant relaxed time at the centre, for musical diversions, for the chance to learn to crochet (may advance on posh string) as there is a new drop in 'wool therapy' starting next week - this would mean being out 4 days next week, which might be too much. However it is a casual, drop-in, people around to help/ teach kind of thing.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
