Another spend day today, but all on grocerys so nothing naughty. It's my week to pay, not sure how much yet as BF is out shopping now.

    25 NSDs - 03/25 - More spends today
Pay to your debt or savings first. Emptied the piggybank and transfered the money into my savings. Just over £25 but all adds up.

    January's rules:
    Food budget. £23.05/£120
Things I am grateful for today:
    1) First proper walkies with the puppy today. Hes a very confident little chap.
    2) I sucked it up and went for a run, even when BF backed out. I'm pleased that I didn't take the opportunity to not go.
    3) I am grateful for the cloud for backing up my game saves. Don't have to start from the beggining after my harddrive failure.

  • Evening all :hello:
Not a nsd today - I did a little top up shop at Mr T (£9.70) and also filled the car up with petrol (£40). While I was on I also ordered a pair of trainers that dd was saving up to buy - she'd saved so well that I decided to chip in a tenner to help her so that she could get them today.
    Today I am grateful for:
my tutoring job to help top up my income
having done half of my year 11 reports
dd suddenly finding the motivation to do a shedload of tidying around the house.
Hope you feel better soon Calling...

Results are in, BF spent £27.43, so my grocery spends are now up to £50.48.

Forgot I left oven cleaner working away, so had to clean that off quickly before cooking tea. It's great stuff, spray, leave, then oven is pretty much wipe clean.

Piri piri chicken in the oven, I'm doing chips for BF, salad for me. Don't want to waste my calories burnt from my run :D

Not claiming a NSD - think my taxi fares ended up being neutral (mum gave me some money) but not sure. Visited mum. Really didn't want to go but it was okay when I got there. She wasn't verbally abusive and 2 of her partner's children (including chocolate teapot) were too ill to go. One son and his wife came. She had foot surgery last week so there were 3 of us with our legs propped up on stools and chairs.

Mum's partner refused to let his carer wash him this morning and was quite aggressive (first time). I did make mum promise that if he ever got violent, he would have to go into care. He is basically a very large, very strong toddler (dementia) and mum was especially frail today (another bug and been awake half the night), but is generally frail.

I finished cooking a pork joint (don't suppose you have any idea how much it weighed or what time you put it in? No. She's is convinced I have the superpower of knowing if it is cooked just by looking) and made tea with roast potatoes, peas and gravy. Three freezers packed to the gills with lumps of meat and potato products, not a single bag of veg - did find fresh carrots but had already opened the larger tin of peas and knew they would probably only eat a spoonful each (I finished off her partner's tea and he had hidden his peas under the pork and potatoes).

Today I am grateful for my lovely new bubble bath, for hearing the dawn chorus twice this week and for a pleasant visit with mum. Unless it's really important I don't bother arguing with her and I've stopped telling her when she's telling me something for the 3rd or 4th time - goes with the territory, some visits you get so confused you don't know which way is up.

Greent - just popping in to suggest we hold a bit of a casualtee /ironing challenge, as that was my plan for the evening too! More likely to keep to it if I declare it on here! It will take more than a hour to conquer my pile through :( but it would make a huge dent in it!
More MS updates later as today has been a productive wombling day!

You're on - mine won't get conquered either - but I'm going to do my best to reduce it! :D

I am also not doing the ironing.

I have not seriously ironed anything for 27 years.

I took the plug off the iron and used it for something else. It took DH 3 YEARS to notice. So I figured it was not a priority. 10 min tumble on hot, shake, hanger. Job done.

I remember DS1's reception teacher saying he did not seem to know what an iron and ironing board were for and laughed at her when she said it was for making clothes flat. She looked properly horrified when I told her it was an instrument of female oppression and had no place in our home. Mind you she was about 12.

    Evening everyone!

    Today I am grateful for:
    I) My car and the places it allows me to travel
ii) The beautiful part of the World I live in
iii) The weather - in all it's varied and amazing forms

Had a really nice day today connecting with an old friend... He lives an hour away by car and it was foggy and drizzling with rain - but I loved the drive. It was so atmospheric. and I felt safe and warm in my little car, and it struck me just how amazing it was to be able to get into it and go anywhere - like my own personal magic carpet! I feel very fortunate indeed.

Bought some food on the way home - so a spend day here. I couldn't get everything I wanted so may have to spread my shop over two days. Evening in tonight chilling.

Am a day out on my meditation as I fell asleep last night - but that's ok. I'll do it this evening as a nice way to end the day, and try to get into doing it first thing (though am *so not* a morning person haha!) Hugs all x

    Evening all,
I've not had time to read yesterdays/todays posts yet so I hope everyone is doing ok.
I'm claiming yesterday as a nsd 5/15 as although I did buy petrol I see that as a "need" not a "want" Today was a spend day but it was planned.

Food - continuing to eat from our supplies but have bought some ys goods today as we were in the co0p at the right time :)
2017 goal - Yesterday I did a fast day which is working towards weightloss goal for the year, didn't eat well today though.

    Yesterday's gratitude's
1 A 5 minute catch up with a friend, she turned my frown upside down!
    2 My kids lovely friends
3 Hubby getting home at 6pm which was really early for a Friday night :)

    Today's gratitude's
1 Free breakfast with my parents
2 Lots of lovely ys items today
3 Cuddles watching Mission impossible with hubby & kids this afternoon
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
